Actually, since "TARDIS" is an acronym (Time And Relative Dimension In Space), the rules of grammar that would require the changing of letters to make it plural would not apply. So crazy hair or not, at least the excellent writer's grammar can be trusted.

It arrived. We were so excited! ...but managed some patience, in order to surprise him.

To keep him busy, I ask my son to turn on Netflix, letting him decide. I tape the boxed 11th screwdriver to a the kid hanger, secretly hanging it inside his brown jacket.

Meanwhile my wife butters the popcorn and my boy is clicking around the TV. We are at the Doctor Who screen, talking about why this or that doctor is our favorite. I mention to my boy that most kids now think of number 11 as their doctor, Matthew Smith. Promptly, he practically demands us to watch Smith in season five's finale. Fantastic!

Once the popcorn is gone, when everything goes from bad to worse... right after Rory needs the Sonic Screwdriver to help the Doctor exit the Pandorica, we pause. From his hanging brown jacket, I ask my son to look what's in that pocket.

Excitedly but curiously, from sad to hanger-snapping glad, he is hopping wildly! We study the alien tech, admiring the strange triangular screws. We pour over the Galifreyan manual. Mom is smiling. My boy grabs my philips micro-screwdriver, the one without sonics. After installing the included 3 power supply buttons... We hit play.

Every time the doctor on screen opens his screwdriver, my boy opens the extending arms too. Without looking also, he closes it, mirroring his favorite Time Lord. During the episode, he was respectful to not use the sonics. That's the Doctor's moment. "Geronimo!"

But now it's Doctor Boy's turn, non-stop adventures of meeting strange creatures, learning new sonic settings, and of course the running.
