Thanks to the folks on Slickdeals, we were able to avail the offer to add a line to our current value plan. $0 for the additional line until Nov 2014; and then $5 per month works well for our familial budget/finances!

well I hope the value plan add a line free deal does come back on 12/5 as reported here - my daughter has been asking for a new phone to get her away from the prepaid ripoff she's been on, and I already agreed to move us all onto t-mobile, along with my other 2 kids. I have an at&t sony phone from 5 years ago I'm still using on my at&t plan (long expired, no early termination issues for me), an old t-mobile prepaid handset, a reeaaally old nokia 3650 I had 7 years ago when I was on tmobile, and I'd like to get them all in use when I sign up for the tmobile value plan - should I expect any problems activating these handsets on tmobile value plan? Where's my best deal on a good touchscreen android phone I can give my daughter for the tmobile value plan, and another one for me? I'm trying for the best bang for the buck, so probably not going to go for the $$$ for an S3 or anything fancy. The phones shown on tmobile site for the value plan all suck, unless I'm missing something.

can someone tell me the details on the Simple 200MB plan. this is what t-mobile website says:
<from website> Simple 200 MB of high-speed data for emailing, checking news and weather $5.00 Per month Select data If you use your smartphone for occasional web surfing and e-mail, this should be enough data to meet your needs. You won’t incur overages if you exceed your plan’s allotment of high-speed data, but your data speeds will be reduced for the rest of your billing cycle. Your previous data usage may be counted against your plan’s new allotment of high-speed data. </from website> However, when I chat with t-mobile reps, they say what this thread's wiki says - you will be charged at $0.10 per MB of overage etc. which is correct? anyone with experience? thanks. |

it is also possible that - tmobile has not "updated" this yet? found this post:http://slickdeals.net/forums/show...count=10 so, is it possible that this "throttled 200mb" is the same plan as the above post? EDIT - updated image to highlight referred "simple plan" text Last edited by deepasadish; 12-03-2012 at 01:36 PM.. |

What's the deal with the t-mobile value plan - I read just about this entire thread, and I'm getting lost. Best bet for me is what?
I have no current t-mobile plan at all, on at&t but long past the end of my contract with them, I need 2 smart phones, would like to add 3 dumb phones for my kids, I have 3 dumb phones that should work on t-mobile, need 2 decent smart phones, don't care where they come from as long as they're cheap, would like good smart phones, ideal would be samsung s3, but s2 is fine, would take anything else if the price is right (need touchscreen for my daughter). No word on add a line free deal coming back today? Could I sign up for the 2 lines first, and wait & see if the add a line deal comes back in the next 2 weeks? Should I go to costco, sam's wholesale club, t-mobile store, or online someplace? I guess if I'm having my own phones activated, I need to bring them with me if I do the signup in a b&m store? |
