For those who will watch this in a bright room, you might want to check it out in a store first. The screen is very reflective.

This 60-inch plasma HDTV from LG, part of its entry-level 1080p series, offers excellent high-definition picture quality. It has a comparatively low price for a set this size, but it's a fairly basic model without a lot of extra features. It does have an ultra-thin 1-inch-thick design, and it includes the company's Picture Wizard II system for helping to calibrate the TV's picture.
• Excellent HD image detail
• Excellent color accuracy
• Unlimited viewing angle
• Nothing significant
Detailed test results
PICTURE QUALITY. This model had excellent high-definition picture quality. It did a top-notch job displaying the finest detail. Color accuracy was excellent, so colors looked very natural and life-like. Contrast--the difference between the darkest blacks and brightest whites--was good, so images showed some depth and dimension. In this respect, the TV was similar to most of the models we test. The brightness level was good, making it a suitable choice for most rooms. There was slight banding (unnatural contours) on scenes with subtly shaded light-to-dark areas, such as a sky during sunset, rather than a smooth transition in the shaded areas. Film mode operation for HD film-based content was excellent, with no visible jaggies along the edges of objects during motion scenes. Deinterlacing was very good, with minimal jaggies visible when converting 1080i content to the display's native resolution.
SCREEN REFLECTIVITY. The glossy screen surface on this plasma TV is susceptible to reflections from a nearby lamp or window. The display is not quite as dark as we've seen on the best plasma screens, which makes it prone to glare. All in all, the TV does a decent job maintaining image contrast in a bright room environment.
VIEWING ANGLE. The overall viewing angle on this display is unlimited, as with all plasma TVs we've tested. Color accuracy, contrast, and depth of black level did not vary regardless of viewing position, unlike what we've seen with LCD TVs.
MOTION BLUR. This LG TV has very good motion performance, like most plasmas, with minimal blurring on our motion tests.
INTERNET FEATURES. This TV does not have access to the Internet.
SOUND QUALITY. Sound was good, fine for typical TV programming, but won't reproduce the full range of movie soundtracks and music. You can turn the volume up to a fairly high level with little distortion. Sound is generally smooth, with decent bass. Though the tonal range was satisfying, uneven mid-range and treble yield less of the full-bodied sound heard on better-performing TVs. Also, the lack of deep bass is increasingly apparent at higher volumes.
CONTROLS AND CONNECTIVITY. Overall, we found the set very easy to use; setting up the TV for the first time was very easy, as was access to features and controls you'll probably adjust only once. Ease of access to features typically used more often was excellent. Also, the remote is very good, and the on-screen menu is very easy to navigate. The remote's major function buttons were sufficiently large and have high-contrast labeling, making them easier to see and navigate.
Mounting the TV to the included support stand is easy, though the stand requires the assembly of two parts before mounting. HDMI and analog cable connections made to the rear-facing panel will protrude beyond the panel's slim depth.
INCLUDED IN THE BOX. The TV comes with: a printed user manual, a digital user manual on CD-ROM, a remote with batteries, cleaning cloth
