It depend on how big those excel files are and how many tabs you have open when you are browsing. Personally for me, 3GB is way too small.

hey quattro, i think that 3GB of ram would suffice for your needs, besides, the ram is upgradable so you can always add some more at a pretty low cost these days.

more importantly, this machine is equipped with a 2.3GHz 2nd generation intel core i3 processor. so imho, all in all this machine will very easily handle the usage you described and more.
