I got lucky with AT&T several years ago. I called because of a minor issue with my account and a week or so later got a random follow up call from a rep at AT&T inquiring about my experience with the CSR. I was asked a few questions; was the CSR polite, professional, did they solve my issue etc.

I told her the CSR was great but that I hated AT&T. She seemed shocked and asked me why. I told her AT&T didn't honor their promises. I'd been told over a year before that I would get $70 for doing something.... can't even remember what it was. About a week later I got a check in the mail for $70 from AT&T, lol.
You're randomly picked lucky at&t customer.

att never honors such deals . at least in my experience it never worked .
+1

They sent me an email about claiming my $10 reward but there was no information about how to do it. I even called customer support about it and they were completely useless. Just don't bother.

I am currently enrolled in ATT Auto Pay. I used online chat with a rep, and was able to get a $25 statement credit. Good luck as this may be time consuming. I was chatting with this rep for 20+ minutes.

Thanks for the deal!!

Sounds like a case of user error on your part. You are the one that picked the features. You are the one that did an add a line. I am going to guess instead of doing an add a line you did an entirely new plan for your one phone you added. Thus not having the correct features you thought you had. Just a guess on my part. Now if you would have added a line at an AT&T Retail Store your odds of having such an issue would have almost been zilch. Sure reps may make a mistake here and there since nobody is perfect but that rep and store would have taken care of your issue immediately.
your guess is wrong. I know the difference between a new line on my family plan and a complete new plan. I dont prefer dealing with reps at retail store, so chose the right options on website still got billed wrong. So the CS acknowledged their mistake and reversed the charges.
don't assume. wave

do you really want to trust AT&T when they cant even bill correctly month after month for a fixed priced service?

Saw this thread and quickly went online to chat with a rep. Told her I was already enrolled for autopay, so she gave me a $25 credit =)
Thanks OP
At midnight or when their system cycles whatever credit was applied will get reversed Wink

I wouldn't do autopay. I have heard horror stories on att forums about this not working right, if you can believe it. Every time I ever try to change or modify something with att, things go awry. Like other posters said att is evil. There is no continuity in there customer service and the cs agents will just hang up on you if its too difficult. Then you get to call att back and start from the beginning which can be a pain if you have a complicated issue with dsl not working.

Because ATT agents are assigned a fixed amount of money to give to customers and the fixed salary at the beginning of their yearly term. If they take too long with customers or give away too many service breaks they have less to give away in the future and their salary goes down. Sooo they just hang up on you if your complaint is legitimate but they do not have any more money to give away or if you your call is taking too long. If you let them sell you a new service they get a bonus, otherwise fixing issues and dealing with complicated problems costs csr money.

Lots of companies are moving to this model of service.
As always there are special phone numbers for elites like verizons "blue line" that offer immediate help.

How did you do it? Can you guys post the chat transcript for those who successfully have the $25 credit applied even though you're on auto-pay already? And how did that $30 even worked when the credit is only for $25?

I will never opt for autopay for ATT. They charged you for service which you never had. Once they charged me $10 for some game which I never downloaded, had to fight for just to make them take away that charge. Once, they added early night and weekend service without my consent.

I also say "don't bother". Signed up for their Paperless Statement $10 promo a while ago and never got the $10.

I have had some really bad experiences in the corporate store. All I wanted was a SIM change from standard to microSIM and I ended up with an mobile internet upgrade that I didn't ask for...they are really bad. They did correct everything after about 2 months but still...I shouldn't have to keep them honest by watching my bill.
