Cougar Case fans $5 off + FS at NewEgg. (CF-V14H -$11.99, CF-V12H -$9.99)

I've been watching these fans for a while and just noticed NewEgg has a $5 discount for most Cougar case fans. Nearly all the reviews for the Cougar fan series are highly positive. They seem to be one of the best price / performance case fans.

Note: Caution mounting these fans horizontally with the air blowing upwards. The manufacturer acknowledges that this causes a grinding noise. It may or may not be fixed at the moment. Most reviews no longer mention the issue, but beware it was a known issue a few months ago.

No buzzing issues, but I did install the low-noise adapter, so that may have mitigated the problem. In fact, with the LNA it's pretty much inaudible compared with the rest of my case fans.

What if I mount these horizontally with the air blowing downwards, will it still create that grinding sound?
