LOL so i'm not the only one with this dilemma...but I'm not thinking about the iPhone...thinking about the S3 or a future android device or maybe even windows 8 except sprint isn't gonna get any windows 8 phone till it's a sure fire hit. They took a huge loss on the windows 7 phone they stocked.

that extra $20/month + the cost of the phone makes our total increase 240+200 for a 2 year contract. decision decisions...hahah

One option is to grab a used LG Marquee or HTC Arrive. Contemplating these options myself but compared to modern phones (think SIII or iPhone 5), is $10/month really worth it to move to these slightly less ancient phones?

I just want a stable, reliable smart phone, and the TP2 ain't it. It has been a tough workhorse despite the need to restore to factory state every 3 months or so...

This number and method totally worked. Had to make two calls: first call this dept transferred me over to Employee Care who stated "there are no promotions for your type of plan at this time", blah, blah, blah. Called the number listed a second time, and it totally worked. I simply asked if 'there was any credit that could be applied to my account if I renewed my contract', and they brought up the $100 credit for a 12 month extension. Done and done!

It showed up in my account instantly! Thanks everyone!

Mine was $80. I guess it depends on the account and most people are eligible for it. Great deal nonetheless.

have u tried using a custom rom? i've been using an old energy rom and it's been fine till recently where i ran out of phone memory and even after i deleted a bunch of texts/pics it still was full so i hard reset and so far good to go again. only thing is my keyboard maybe starting to crap out and i've dropped my phone enough to have a piece of it chip off. so far it's still working though! hahah

and if i were to upgrade, i'd go to full SERO-P plus the 10 for the 4G charge that I don't even have in my area.

Never expected this would still work on old SERO accounts. Just got $80 for 1-year extension for my wife's account. Tried to check if there were any offers for phone upgrades but was told none. Guess I'd keep that $150 for another while.

I haven't tried a custom ROM as I don't even want to bother at this point. I think what I have what you described as a memory problem - except I save all my photos on a SD card. The phone will become extremely sluggish and cannot obtain a data connection. Very annoying!

From what I've read so far, the Marquee/Arrive do not require the 4G fee, so it'd be just plain jane $40 SERO-P. But then you'd realize it's only $10 more for a new SIII/IP5 or a used SII/IP4S. I guess once you start you might as well go all the way.

But if I get to that point... I might as well just get an HTC EVO V for $240 and get 4G speed at $30/month!!! (well, not for another 12 months now I guess)

I suppose I'll switch when I can't milk the renewal credit cow in 12 months.

i just tried to get the renewal..they said they only offer one month of credit on my bill. that's only 30 bucks plus tax...i said i'd think about it and call back.

Thank you got it, in a few minutes and I have Sero plan. I got $80 not a $100 just FYI.

I called and they referred me over to the employee care department. I guess I could try calling them, but they have gone from being a department that would do anything for their customers (3 years ago) to a department that doesn't seem to care. When I have threatened to cancel they are more than willing to help me.

I received the same dismissive attitude from Employee Care, keep trying with the Retentions number posted above. Good luck!
