Thread Details

Mods please move to correct section if not Hot Deals worthy..I think it is bounce

I just got off the phone with sprint retention's and was issued an $80 credit for renewing my contract for 12 months.so I would say this is a Very YMMV Results May Vary
.
I caled 888-211-4727 and asked the Sprint Rep to transfer me to Retentions Department, I explained the retentions rep that I was out of contract and was considering switching to a competitor even though I have 5 lines, two of which are still under contract for another 10 months,

I even went as far as refusing the $80 and asking for $100 and I would renew, she placed me on a brief hold and came back and said the $100 credit was no longer available as it was removed from the system by corporate and the only credit available was the $80 credit.

I accepted the $80 offer once I found out it was only for 12 months, the last time I renewed I was given $120 credit but had to renew my contract for 24 months

Oh and BTW I still have $150 credit towards a new handset, I am going to buy the new Evo LTE tomorrow and plan on using the credit then.

Flame Away OMG

Question: Was that $80 credit offered just on one line, or for as many lines as you were willing to renew? I remember last time I renewed (about two years ago) I was offered that per line, so hopefully they still do that.

And yeah...this was probably more of a deal talk than hot deals, but it's okay. lol

I did ask about the other lines but since we were only talking about my personal line I didn't want to push the issue since I was issued a credit for $15 just 2 weeks ago for some crap games that my 4 year old downloaded to my wife's phone.

I plan on calling with anything I can think of to bury the comments so I can call back in a few weeks and attempt to get the credit on another line.

I was also part of that same group as you might have been part of about 2.5 years ago when we were able to get a $60 renewal credit per line along with a $150 rebate for the Samsung Moments, I bought 2 . I miss those days, I made close to $500 after rebates on 4 phones back then.

I can confirm this. I helped my parents to renew their sprint contract for 2 years and each line got a $80 credit. Well, it took about 3 phone calls to remind the sprint about the credit but it all worked fine at the end. So definitely call them up and ask about any promos available to extent the contract

I tried twice and all they said they could do was waive the activation fee if I upgrade. I am out of contract on both of my lines. It is really pissing me off!!

Tell them that you do not want to upgrade your device but would like to extend your contract if they issue a credit. They usually try and offer the upgrade as an incentive. don't settle for that either, one thing I know about Sprint is that the minute you have a feeling the Sprint Rep is not going to help you just hang up and call back.

Yeah I will have to try that. I want to use the port-in offer along with the renewal credit to get the 4G LTE for cheaper.

I have 5 lines total and one of them has been out of contract for the past 6 months. Called cancellation department this morning and the best they were able to offer was $25 credit, I declined.
Called one hour ago and the representative offered $100 credit ($25 x 4 months) with contract extension of 1 year, but it would not affect my upgrade eligibility (planning to upgrade tomorrow). I also asked about waiving the activation fee and the rep agreed.
Took his name and conf. number.

I got up to a $100 credit for my line today. Its up to a $100 because if you have discounts it will be 100 - amount of discount you get. I was hoping to use the $100 port in offer for the 4G LTE but I can't because if I port out I loose the $100 credit. I had a prepaid number to port-in and everything, just forgot about losing the $100 credit.

So can you get this discount and then upgrade credit too?

I'm one yr and 2 days into my current 2 yr contract. I've been with Sprint since '99

By passing my 1 yr anniversary, I'm eligible for any posted upgrade promotions, either retail or mail order. e.g. I can get the EVO LTE for $200 plus $50GC @BB.

I wasn't aware of this thread when I called today; don't know if that worked for me or not.

I started the dialogue with the rentions rep by asking how much my ETF would be and explaining my frustration with the LTE offerings only giving me 3G for the foreseeable future. The agent at retentions gave me a $70 credit (which reflects one month, pre tax) for agreeing to stay with Sprint another year.

Considering that I'm on day 2 of my 2 year contract, this only committed me to one extra day. Plus the rep flagged my account, to waive $38, towards the activation fee; if I choose to upgrade. The $38 credit is done manually, after the upgrade.

Upgrading only adds one year, if you are within contract. So in my case if I grab the SG III or the EvO LTE, I'll extend my contract to July 1st, 2014

My ETF is cuurently @$120. If I choose to terminate this month, I can use the $70 credit towards the ETF.
