Myrtle Beach July 4th-9th

I live in SC and hadn't been to Myrtle Beach in a few years until I stayed at the Westgate Resort [tripadvisor.com] last year. I'm single and couldn't talk my friends into going, so I went and stayed Tuesday - Sunday just after Labor Day.

It's clean, it wasn't loud with a bunch of drunks around, and it was safe. It's not fancy at all - I think they renovated the old Holiday Inn that used to be there years ago, and it's very dated - but for me wanting to stay somewhere safe and cheap, it was great.

I went deep sea fishing out of Calabash [tripadvisor.com] and loved it! The weather was incredible, and we caught something every time we threw out our lines.

Be sure to go to Broadway at the Beach [tripadvisor.com]. That was fun just watching the people and taking in all the shops and stuff. Landry's Seafood House [tripadvisor.com] was delicious!

The Sea Captain's House [tripadvisor.com] is another delicious seafood place that I had not been to.

I played golf at the Wicked Stick [tripadvisor.com] and thought it was nice, especially for the money.
