Ironically, I was recently hoping somebody would have a deal on a two-pack of N-format wireless cameras as there have been a LOT of break-ins lately in our subdivision -- even when people have alarm systems, they just do a smash and grab and are long gone before the police show up.

I figured one in the basement and one on the main level should pretty much cover all of our doorways.

EDIT: I called their 1-800 number and discovered two things:

1) It can do e-mail alerts or the like when motion is detected.
2) You can't "schedule" when to send motion alerts (i.e. only between 8:30 AM and 5:30 PM). You have to manually do it. I suggested it would be an idea he should present -- people could pre-populate their work schedule or the like into the software/server so you wouldn't have to turn it on and/or off manually every time.

Also received the email and got a set in white, figured it matches the interior better, less obvious. I want another one and my mother wants one for her place, so can't go wrong with this bundle. I have the older version of this cam already and am very happy with it. Use it with iPad and Android apps. Just havent found a decent recording solution yet. It's amazing how many free FTP sites there are out there, but none will let you FTP camera pictures to them unless you pay big bucks.

That's interesting. On my FI-8918W and I'm pretty certain on my FI-8910W, there's a scheduler to block time by the day to email motion detected captures. Attached a screenshot showing the camera I use in my baby's room, that switches on motion capture during the night and in the afternoon nap time.

Thanks for the tip. I had somebody in my subdivision just ask if the motion sensing functionality could be scheduled. So I'm assuming, based on what you just posted, that the sales guy was wrong.

I'm even more excited for these now.

Will these survive outside if placed under an overhang of some sort, or is it necessary to buy the one listed as "outdoor" such as this one: http://foscam.us/outdoor-cameras/...era-3.html

Out of curiosity, if you mount these near the ceiling in a room, hallway, etc., what's the best way to connect to power so you done have wires showing? Thanks!

If you are just starting and piecing together a security system with these do you recommend the Blue Iris software and what DVR to accompany these?

I use Blue Iris Professional Recording software and that works great. You can bundle the same on Foscam's website with this camera bundle for discounted rate of $39.99. Regular price from Blue Iris software is $49.99.

The details of the camera also says "built in network video recording system", I'm not sure how actually that works, I've the previous version of this camera. Anyone already having this model may be able to help you with his experience.

And this too.

I assume it comes with some basic software to do at least SOMETHING, but...I'm curious as to what people have used/prefer, etc.
