Installing Graphics Card
Has anyone had any issues installing a graphics card with the ECS motherboard/Diablotek case?I tried installing a MSI R6450-MD1GD3/LP Radeon HD 6450 1GB 64-bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready Low Profile Ready Video Card but the bracket seems too tall and I'm not able to screw it down into place. The bracket by the dvi port sticks out too far. I low profile brackets it came with wouldn't have fit in the computer case. Should I have purchased a PCI Express 2.0 card instead? Thanks. As you probably figured, this is my first build. |

How far away from being able to screw it in/have it fit flush are you? If you are close but are just not getting there, look to see if you DON'T have a gap for the rest of the metal to go between the case and the motherboard, if you don't, loosen the motherboard screws and give yourself some room. The only thing I can imagine is happening is that there isn't that gap to allow the bracket to fit all the way into the case for some reason. This case is definitely not low profile, so the other one should be able to fit in there. Good luck! |

Took two phone calls to TD. First rep was clueless, and eventually transferred me to a department completely unrelated to the issue. Called several days later, rep didn't sound familiar with this, either, but finally put me on hold, came back to tell me I'd be getting a credit on my Visa in 4-5 days. The $10 credit from Tiger Direct posted 7/8, as promised. Edit: It's unlikely anyone is still dealing with this, but TD is the one to fix it, not your Visa provider. Have not received rebates yet, but have gotten confirmations that they have been received by each company.
Can someone help me with a slight issue? I need to know the pin layouts for POWER SW, HD LED, ETC. Not sure if I did these correctly, can someone upload a picture of their build? I cannot get my "Power" button to light up and I think that is my only issue, other than that its a good system, works really well. Please don't quote my posts, because sometimes I make mistakes and change stuff.

I had the same issue, and while I am not sure what did the trick since I am used to just going through everything once again by habit unplugging/re-plugging everything just to make sure they are snug, I found that when I was plugging back in the main power harness to the motherboard that a small section of it(like 1/4 off the end) was able to separate from the rest of the harness, so I was thinking that part didn't make it into the MB the first time .. so I gave extra attention to that one. Also, be sure that you turned the power supply on in the back .. it's easy enough to forget about.(the black toggle switch.) If it doesn't work after this, unplug all peripherals and leave only the CPU, Power Supply, RAM and case cables plugged into the MB and see if that works .. if not something might be bad. Good luck! |
