WARNING: Phone Volume is really crappy.. (even at highest volume) a regular call to a home/cell sounds really low at your end, as well as other end also complains low volume. I tried different tools, volume+ didn't work fine for me(it made distorted), but Volume Rockers was better. all free apps i tried. But what the hell you buy 350+tax almost 400 phone and you have to have a bit compromise on the very basic feature of call quality. If its not an issue, you can be on top of it, I like for its sleek/screen etc.. except this one imp vol issue. Note: even with 4.1.2 there is no much diff i can recognize.

Runs latest Jelly Bean 4.1.2

Jellybean has been optimized for slicker performance (Project Butter), and includes Google Now, which is a competitor to Siri. Also note that this phone supports Google Wallet.

Siri vs Google...Fight

According to several forum posts, if you have a micro-sim card (used in iPhone 4/4S), you do not need a new sim or an adapter to use it in the Galaxy Nexus (which uses mini-sim card): just slide your micro-sim directly down the middle of the mini-sim slot in Nexus, and it should work.

This is a penta-band GSM phone for AT&T, T-Mobile, many prepaid providers, and the rest of the world. It is a world-phone in a very true sense because it's completely unlocked and supports all the major bands in use.

Galaxy Nexus Extended 2000mah battery. ebay [ebay.com] or cheaper here expansys [expansys-usa.com].
Please note that the NFC device used in Google Wallet and Google Beam need a compatible battery to function. A NFC-enabled battery costs more than the generics.

The screen is a pentile HD SuperAMOLED. It is very sharp, the contrast is great, the colors are vibrant, and it is very readable in the sun. Note that there are defects in the screen of some of the phones, so please look for any problems noted in this thread at XDA Developers. [xda-developers.com]

AT&T and T-Mobile both market their HSPA+ networks as "4G". So this phone will get you the non-LTE "4G" on AT&T. All of T-Mobile's "4G" currently is HSPA+.

i got the diztronic from amazon..while its slim it offers no protection, hrnce got the ballistic case...this offers great protection but adds some bulk, collects lint on the silicone and very easily the vol/power buttons get depressed when in pocket
The diztronic case is actually really good. I dropped my gnex on concrete floor from around 4 feet, landed at bottom right corner and fell flat on the screen. It only caused a tiny scratch on the case Cool

How's the vibration on this phone? Can you feel it in your front pocket when in a busy/noisy environment
Not good for me. Hardly ever know it vibrates when on vibrate.

...and let's not forget the entirely likely case that his account has hijacked. No feedback for a year, and suddenly he's unloading nearly 400 S3s at a cut rate price.
That was my concern too. But it was a legit deal. I actually called the seller's business phone number and verified with him.

I tried the $30 T-Mobile plan with this phone--worked great for Wi-Fi calls (using SipRoid+PBX.org+GoogleVoice) but still burned thru 100 minutes/month in 10 days.

Changed to the $50/mo T-Mobile unlimited plan and all is well.

Only compaint I have is that the speaker volume is weak -- easily remedied with a free app called "Speaker Boost" from the Play Store.
Why all the complication for wifi calling w/PBX.org when GV will work straight up w/GrooveIP or Talkatone? Is there some advantage to the way you have set up wifi calling?

Is anyone having trouble with MMS through t-mobile? I can see the video playing but there is no audio. The same MMS plays on my wife's Samsung Exhibit II phone. Contacted Google and they suggested performing a factory data reset and if that doesn't work to call them. Hoping someone else may have had this problem and might know a solution without doing the reset. TIA.

Does it boost the in-call volume ? Thanks

No. But like my Amazon Music player is louder for sure. Sure wish it boosted in-call volume.

So I got hit with a $30 data plan on AT&T, but don't want that. I am willing to do the $20 one but it won't let me choose one now. Agent said this:

since you have switched the device on the line, you will need to
contact our Customer Care on 1-800-331-0500 to have the IMEI number of the
device you are currently using updated within the system.Once that has
been updated you would be able to select that plan

Any suggestions? Do I give them the IMEI number? Sure feel like putting my sim card back in my old Nokia E63 and calling them. But I wouldn't mind just taking the $20 plan but why do they want this IMEI number?? I previously had the media net $10 plan.

Turns out that Volume+ is working in bluetooth setting mode. This includes bass boost settings in the bluetooth menu. I use it in the car. The issue is only with speaker volume boosting on the phone itself for whatever reason. I'm trying not to be too mad at the developer. He sounds like he's hard at work based on his reply in the Google Play comments section. It's affecting all apps designed for volume amplification for the time being on Jellybean. I just wish I hadn't paid for the full version when the free one was good enough.

I don't ever have programs installed on my phone for VOIP. I used Siproid to set pup a box at PBX.org and disabled it. I use the native caller on Jelly Bean to make my calls. I figured not having a program run in the back ground would save some battery life.

But if you want to get calls don't you have to leave Sipdroid running in the background? Maybe I'm just not understanding this setup. Only native SIP I've set up is on an old Nokia e71 (Symbian based).

In order for me to get in coming calls over VOIP, it will have to be my Google Voice number.
