WARNING: Phone Volume is really crappy.. (even at highest volume) a regular call to a home/cell sounds really low at your end, as well as other end also complains low volume. I tried different tools, volume+ didn't work fine for me(it made distorted), but Volume Rockers was better. all free apps i tried. But what the hell you buy 350+tax almost 400 phone and you have to have a bit compromise on the very basic feature of call quality. If its not an issue, you can be on top of it, I like for its sleek/screen etc.. except this one imp vol issue. Note: even with 4.1.2 there is no much diff i can recognize.

Runs latest Jelly Bean 4.1.2

Jellybean has been optimized for slicker performance (Project Butter), and includes Google Now, which is a competitor to Siri. Also note that this phone supports Google Wallet.

Siri vs Google...Fight

According to several forum posts, if you have a micro-sim card (used in iPhone 4/4S), you do not need a new sim or an adapter to use it in the Galaxy Nexus (which uses mini-sim card): just slide your micro-sim directly down the middle of the mini-sim slot in Nexus, and it should work.

This is a penta-band GSM phone for AT&T, T-Mobile, many prepaid providers, and the rest of the world. It is a world-phone in a very true sense because it's completely unlocked and supports all the major bands in use.

Galaxy Nexus Extended 2000mah battery. ebay [ebay.com] or cheaper here expansys [expansys-usa.com].
Please note that the NFC device used in Google Wallet and Google Beam need a compatible battery to function. A NFC-enabled battery costs more than the generics.

The screen is a pentile HD SuperAMOLED. It is very sharp, the contrast is great, the colors are vibrant, and it is very readable in the sun. Note that there are defects in the screen of some of the phones, so please look for any problems noted in this thread at XDA Developers. [xda-developers.com]

AT&T and T-Mobile both market their HSPA+ networks as "4G". So this phone will get you the non-LTE "4G" on AT&T. All of T-Mobile's "4G" currently is HSPA+.

So you won't lose any important data when you clear the data on option 2?
From everyone's experience it didn't cause any issues except that it lost sync with the Google Play store. Some people said they no longer was able to access the store on their phone. I just found it lost sync with the store on my Desktop computer. After the JB update it synced like back up.

Thanked/Repped. Did you buy it on ebay or amazon.com and for how much?
Amazon.com. It was a TPU case + screen protector combo for $10, prime eligible. The case is REALLY nice. Best case I've used on any device I've ever owned. Makes the phone feel really solid.

No, this is it http://www.amazon.com/Diztronic-F...laxy+nexus
Diztronic is a great case, i am using it now, the screen protector that comes with it is flimsy though (just my opinion). it scratched and bubbled up in a day or so. I would recommend zaggshield wet screen protector. the feel may be different but it much more durable and has no bubbles at all.

malware? as long as you know what you're installing, I have not receive one yet. Got to agree wifi signal is a lil weak compare to other phones.
GPS connects under a second for me, not sure about your phone. I had iphones before, its not that much better..
Read his earlier posts in this thread. He's an Android noob who just assumed the store was a walled garden like Apple's so he got spam links installed on his phone from some "signal booster" app. No way in hell would I install an app that promises to magically boost the signal (unless it was a software update from Samsung or Google).

The Diztronic matte is the best TPU case that I have used on any phone for the price. Unless you want a tacky and huge android on the back of your case then the Cruzerlites aren't bad either. Mercury is another decent brand if you want color variety but they are only available from sellers in China. If you feel like blowing more money ($25) then the SGP Neo Hybrid is a really nice case as well but there are reports of the silicon part wearing out and sagging over time.

Just to be sure, all apps I downloaded so far are from google store or amazon store. Admittedly it's my mistake to expect google store as trustworthy as apple store and no app will introduce spam if it is from a legit source. My phone has not been rooted or installed anything outside of so called "store", so call me not knowing what I'm doing, then what about any other average joe who blindly follow the book? These are the who you want to blame, then don't portrait google store as something on par with apple store, ok, orange is orange, don't make it sounds like apple then I won't complain, fair?

Here is another one for your day. Today half hour ago I tried to make phone calls in an area att signal is not good I got merely one bar. My google voice is integrated, so it dialed google number first. Yet not sure this matters, what puzzled me is as soon as I hit the call (phone icon) button, the panel disappeared, twice in a row already. When I press the right button to for quick app access to get back to phone panel, there appeared two phone panels in the background. Mind you this is a basic function, last I check smartphone is still a phone. I mean this is beyond my imagination what google's engineers have "achieved". Again, there must have been thousands review of android out there, I'm a news addict by any standard yet I haven't come across one that even remotely implies this might happen. darn on me.

You've got a point. If this phone can't be effective used by a "noob", then what's good of it? Do you seriously expect only hacker are interested in this phone, pardon me, you lost me. I was lead to believe this is a consumer product for prime time than some lab guinea pig testing platform. Anything from google store, I mean all of them by definition are "google stoed", why in hell am I allowed to download a malware, and you're trying to blame a "noob" who's at least willing to spend a few hundred dollar to try it out? Face the reality, this phone got some serious defect requiring serious engineering, period. I can't believe it's even being marketed as such, comparing to apple? not in a long time, buddy.

the diztronic case is pretty good for $10. just wished they made the top part matte black too instead of shiny black, but i can live with that.
