OT: Nexus 7 tablet: Are you pre-ordering?

Only thing I dont like about the transformer w/keyboard is sometimes you wanna hold that sucker portrait style.. and the keyboard makes that silly

Those of you eyeing the Google Nexus 7 can pre-order the tablet from GameStop and get a cut in price if you've got something to trade.

Starting today, Nexus 7 buyers can pre-order the 16GB version of tablet at all GameStop stores in the U.S. Customers could score up to a 30 percent discount by trading in other items, including video game hardware, software, and accessories as well as Apple mobile devices and certain Android tablets.

The deal could make GameStop a more appealing alternative to Google itself, which is selling the Nexus 7 for $199 (8GB version) and $249 (16GB version) with taxes and shipping on top and obviously no trade-in program. GameStop is selling only the 16GB version, but shipping is free if you pre-order in the store rather than online.

Both Google and GameStop are throwing in a $25 credit good for any item in the Google Play store and some free content, including a copy of the move "Transformers: Dark of the Moon."

Anadtech did a sort of comparision/review of the nexus 7 (http://www.anandtech.com/show/605...ini-review) and the performance was at par with sub $400 tablets.

C'mon...you can't compare prices on those...it is like saying you can carry more people in a $200 Caravan than you can in a $400 Viper so it's a good deal.

What are the specs compared to OTHER 7 inch $200 tablets, not just Asus's tablets?

Reading further, they again put it up against all the regular tablets out there...and internally it is right there but you still can't compare it to a $400 tablet because of the screen difference.

Show me the deal on the $400 Viper and you earn yourself +4 reps and all the internets.

I wouldn't like the smaller screen. No need in a 7" tablet when I have a 4" phone always with me. Having the 10" tablet is enough to get me to stop on the phone and start on the tablet.

i have a 4" phone (2 to be exact) and a 10.1 in tablet.. i find myself using my 2nd phone more than i use the tablet

Exactly...barely use it now, would use it ever less if it was 7"...because you have a handy phone.

We have the keyboard also and a case. The keyboard makes it way more secure than the case so I don't mind keeping it in that. But with it attached to the keyboard all the time I feel like a netbook would have worked better.
