I bought one but I can't figure out why it only takes compact flash cards. I don't have any at home and they seem to be overpriced. Is it worth keeping this camera to replace my T3i?

Wow, I had not realized the 7d still used CF! Maybe I am glad my order didn't go thru afterall, as my 60d will take SD cards of all flavors, and which are dirt cheap. ;-)

CF are faster than SD cards. If your complaining about the price for CF you shouldn't have jumped from the T3i to this.

It's like saying you bought a M3 and found it you need to use 93 octane gas.

I have mine in hand. Keep your 18-135. It's a much better lens than the 28-135. The ultimate combo is the 7D and the 17-55 2.8 IS.

The 7D is a better camera than the 60D but for anyone who isn't shooting fast sports or shooting in very low light or fast movement in low light the 60D will fulfill all of your needs. It's a great camera, too. I shoot dancers so the 7D is much better for me than a 60D. This is the best 7D deal I've ever seen. Best I'd seen so far was an ebay daily deal for a 7D body only for 1099.

Should mention I've shot both 7 and 50D and 60D a lot. My previous 7D was stolen so just replacing it. The big diff between the 28-135 and the 18-135 is the focusing speed and accuracy of the lens. 18-135 is just a lot better, imo.

That Ken Rockwell guy really liked the 28-135. He claimed to prefer it over the 24-105 (IIRC, it was mostly because of the weight and he said that the 28-135 is plenty good for him most of the time, or something like that.)

Is the high ISO performance of the 7D noticeably better than the 60D (same sensor, right?) or is the 7D focusing system noticeably better in low light, or both?
