Just plain LOL. Spell checker has ruined america. For reals. But also, no, eggs are not 100% safe to eat raw. About one in 20,000 eggs on the supermarket shelves have Salmonella (LOLing STILL). What he meant was the residue (salmonella, LOL again  ) on the outer shell would mix with the rice he was cooking it with. This is where I would side with the electric egg cooker, it's such a bother washing the eggs before cooking them with rice.As kids my mom would make us wash the eggs thoroughly before cooking them in a pot with just water  And a thank you to those of you with spell checkers! It makes someone's day

Alright guys! Item is back on sale at $12.50 with FREE PRIME shipping. I've been using mine for two months now and all I can say is: WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE?!?!?! This thing does an excellent job of hard boiling 7 eggs at a time with minimal fuss. They are done quickly with very little cleanup. Perfect eggs every time. If they undercook somewhat, just add a bit more water next time. I fill to the 5 mark when making 7 eggs. They also seem to peel easier. Eggs are great food, particularly if you get high quality ones from your local farmer's market or Whole Foods.
