Surprise, surprise. Maybe that manager was right--it took a big change in the law in NJ just to allow this promotion to even run here, so maybe it does have some restrictions. Manager had told me that they all had to call their Congressmen to remind them to vote, etc. But then why would CS tell someone that there will be incentives to buy certain products here (unless they really didn't know that NJ might have different rules)? I think we just have to wait it out and see how it plays.
Well, I'd rather have the instant savings. It takes a 15 gallon fill to equal the instant savings when NJ deals are compared with everywhere else, and Shell is typically $.10-$.20/gal more than the cheapest stations (at least in my area which is typically Hess, Sam's Club especially if pricing is going up as they are slower to change pricing, and independent stations) so it takes me 200 gas points at a minimum to go to Shell and we don't have any S&S stations. So it's really more like a 20-25 gallon fill is required to equal the NJ deal, unless you take the strategy to stock up on Shell GCs (but Gulf GCs are available too and they are cheaper/gal) when there's a $10 cat wyb $50 GC deal like what happened a few months ago.

I do realize that this deal is better if you have a S&S station in your area though as those stations are kept at a competitive price.

I used to think that way until I saw the light!!bulb

I myself would rather have the gas savings then the $3 IS. You can get up to 35 gallons, so with 2 cars or gas cans, even if you only get 30 gallons, at .20 a gallon its $6.00 off, or twice what we get in instant savings from doing one deal alone.

While I agree that Shell is about .10 a gallon higher, there have been so many deals I could have done several of, without much expense and made gas money on.

Look at next weeks ad, If you have enough PC's or ask a friend the La Choy is a huge Gas MM.

You would spend 0.00 OOP to get .20 off a gallon of gas. I have enough PC's to print for 2 deals with a few left over.

So even at only saving .30/gallon due to Shell's higher price doing this twice, that is still so much more than the $6 overage I may or may not get on two deals. I would rather have the $9-10.50 in gas savings after taking into account the .10 extra at Shell.

Other deals have had newspaper coupons, where you could buy 20 coupons for say $1.50 and save .60 or more a gallon if you don't get your own inserts already

Right now with the straight grocery savings, I am not even bothering. I need the bonus gas deals

Almost always instant savings are sale prices after coupons as well (unless it's a buy a certain number of products, save $Y instantly).

... Can put 3 rebates in one envelope for one address. Thx KikiandDfor the h/u that the Fall recipes were up. I got my 3 $10 checks about 6 weeks after mailing in! An easy $30!
... do you know by any chance if you have over $20 in qualifying products on one receipt if that will work for TWO rebates ? or do u have to send in three (or more) distinct receipts ? in other words, i am only sending in two receipts but qualify for all three rebates. thnks if u know !

I've been out of the loop for a long time, so I apologize if this is a silly question. From what I understand, the buy $25 get $10 is calculated after sales and coupons, correct? Once we get that $10, can it then be used on the same deal, or would that be considered a coupon for the next transaction and lower the total too much?

No CAT - the total has to be $25 then the $10 comes off. If you use a coupon and make it $24 - then the $10 comes back on.

Clarify this for me please, seeing as I already printed 12 of the .50 off 2 Yoplait Greek coupons. I can't buy 25 of the yogurts for $3?

With instant savings offers where you have to spend a certain $$ amount like this one you will not be able to get the $10 off if your total drops below the required threshold of $25. You will have to do missed coupons at customer service and get your money back there after your purchase at the register (regular cashier or SCO.. same thing).

btw... but just in case someone cares: Yoplait Greek Lawsuit [foodnavigator-usa.com] EEK! I'm thinking I need to make our own yogurt. One of my friend's mother makes it very easily in her home in the burbs. Plain on some indian food drool I need to go visit Wink

Thanks. I just won't do this on FRI when people are getting MO or lottery at customer service.

Shhh, about the lawsuit. The wife won't eat 'em if she finds out!
