sorry for the OT: PM me

ive searched google but cant find anything. anyone hear of a recall on kraft deluxe mac 2%? DH found it oddly crunchy until he pulled out a piece of glass from his mouth EEK!. nothing glass broke around that time so no idea where is came from except the boxes. i still have a whole bunch of various boxes from the freebie a while back. now i wont even donate it. ill contact kraft tomorrow after DH comes home. im just horrified as i fed a little of it to my LOs earlier in the week but they seem fine.

OMG that is horrible. We have eaten dozens of boxes here with no issue, so hopefully its isolated incident. Let us know what they say since many of us still have boxes here from deals.

OMG...me too!! Still have some too...if you find lot numbers or identifying info on the boxes, could you share it on here. This kind of thing deserves it's own thread so people can be aware...Yikes! Thanks for the heads up!

Rich Products Corp. has announced a voluntary recall of its Farm Rich Mini Quesadillas and other Farm Rich products because of a possible E. coli contamination.

The recall, announced Thursday, also includes the Buffalo, N.Y.-based company's Farm Rich Mini Pizza Slices, Farm Rich Philly Cheese Steaks, Farm Rich Mozzarella Bites and Market Day Mozzarella Bites. They were produced Nov. 12 through Nov. 19.

The Farm Rich products were distributed in retail stores nationwide. The company says it's working with the Food Safety Inspection Service in the U.S. Department of Agriculture to identify the possible contamination source.

Health officials say symptoms of E. coli infection could occur up to 10 days after exposure and can include diarrhea, abdominal cramps, nausea and vomiting.

Consumers with questions about the recall can call 1-888-220-5955.

This is what I bought today.

Edy's = $6.49 - $1.01(Store q) - $3.49 (scan card) = $1.99
tuna = $7.49 - $1.11 (sq) - $2.50 (scan card) = $3.88
Folger = $4.79 - $2.80 (sq) - $1.80 (scan card) = $0.19
22 X hunts 14.5oz can tomatoes = $1.69 X 22 = $37.18 - $15.18 (scan card) - $12.10 ($0.55 double) = $9.90

I first scanned the $5/$50 from last week's flyer which I have not used yet and will not expire until Sunday.

Paid $10.96 and got 60 cents off a gallon of gas and grocery. Smilie

My results slightly different.

My folders is $4.49, so end result was $.49 after scanning card coupon (2.50) and scanning card (1.50)

I also did the Hunt's tomatoes, but not one coupon doubled (they are IP ones $.55/2). I was at SCO and had used a $8/75 I still had from last weeks flyer so I am fine with it, but want to do it again.

Did you use the IP? Did it double at SCO or at regular cashier?

hmmmm, wonder what these are actually coded for if they can scan them twice at SR.

I may try using more at SCO again.

My problem is that at my store if they dont double with cashier, they will have to call FEM and they will tell them to only double 4, which changes my plan of buying 14, paying 6.30 and getting $14 in gas.

I guess I can buy 8, pay $3.60 and get $7.00 in gas. Not that much of a difference if I have to.

No it did not double, but I got help from the attendant. I was going to CS but decided not to because it is easier to get someone to help me out at SCO and to stay under the radar.

My thoughts too...
Or
GS1 code can be scanned at least twice per item??? Wink

Reminded me a yesterday conversation in a store with Wonderful nuts rep. I asked him for a few 1/1 coupons on almonds, he said I can use these along with 0.75/1 peelies which were already on the package..
Sure he was wrong, but it would be so wonderful if this actually happened: 2+ coupons pays for the same item.. Big Grin

I don't think normal GS1 can be scanned twice, pretty sure not if its coded properly. This one might be coded aas $.55/1 which is why SR could scan it twice, once per item.

This would be a help since its not doubling, but will have to see if I can try it later today.

i think it's coded DND either incorrectly or they forgot to put it on the coupon. their intention could have been either, who knows.

after you scan the databar you need to drop the coupon into the slot so you can't scan it twice.

If supervisor directed this measure to the cashier, seems like they've had an issue with the same coupon (or may be other coupons too?) before, did the same and it worked. Agreed, the coupon might be coded wrong, but scanning every coupon twice would certainly mess up their reconciliation coupons against the tape.
However, I've seen attendants themselves dropping a random piece of paper to the SCO coupon box to calm down that blinking light on the coupon box..

We cannot follow intentions, only what's written. If it doesn't say DND (and indeed it doesn't), we have all rights to request proper reimbursements.
Reg. checkouts, with the live cashier, do not have this feature - to drop in the box each and every coupon after scanning. After using SCO we'd have to go to CS to get money back.

i think it's coded weird b/c if it was coded .55/1 it still should have automatically doubled.

iirc, the supervisor had to scan his card after the 5th scan, so they were doing some sort of override.

also had to override my soft scrub ip's for the rubber gloves. last wk a different store claimed they wouldn't scan b/c rubber gloves are not cleaning products. sigh! this wk i printed the cleaning category w/ the gloves from the circular just in case and no problem. didn't even have to say the gloves were .99 and the q was 1.00 so maybe that's why it beeped.

they can do that b/c they work there and that's their workaround, but you can't drop random pieces of paper in there or you could be accused of coupon fraud.
