From what I've gathered, there are two good cases where you should upgrade:

If you are doing primarily video, it's likely worth it to upgrade for the follow focus and improved video AF overall.

Additionally, if you're having significant issues with consistent front focus or back focus. The t3i focus isn't the best thing in the world and there are a few lenses that are worse than others for this.

Beyond that, I really don't really think it's worth the money unless you really want to play with the touchscreen Personally, I'm not a huge fan of the touchscreen, but that's personal preference!
