The OP asked honest questions and it wouldn't be fair to let some uninformed, self-appointed jailhouse lawyer, TV educated "expert" give erroneous answers without someone correcting them with the truth, now would it?

I don't know about filing a lawsuit since nothing was really lost and seemed pretty procedural but you can complain to their department (assuming you got their badge numbers and everything).
While I know you want your Rodney King moment to happen, this is just not the right moment lol. |

I came in just to say this is some nonsense right here. One: miranda rights do not have to be read to people unless they are going to be questioned. Two: people do not have to be taken to a station and booked. There is such a thing as being cited and released. They explained the situation, and were decent to you when they finished. The best way to look at this is that there was no unnecessary arrest. They were doing their job and I'm sure you are going to be just fine.
