I just talked to somebody from rebateshq about the webroot secureanywhere complete. Apparently the upgrade rebate requires the original upc, not the usual copy upc. I do not know if that is an error on rebateshq or webroot. So be careful with the rebate for webroot its not FAR.

The Crucial Tactical 2x 4GB DDR3 1866MHz 1.5v C9 for $39.99 isn't too shabby.
Usually have to pay $50+ for better than 1600 C9, unless it's 1.65v memory.

Anyone know what the 40" Major Name Brand LED TV for $499 is?

You buy Software A Anti virus for FAR with MIR (mail in rebate) and UPMIR (upgrade MIR). Software B anti virus is also on sale for FAR and UPMIR.
So you would buy both at the same sale time and send in for all 4 rebates: Soft A's MIR and UPMIR and Soft B's MIR and UPMIR. Both the software purchases will require 1 Original UPC be sent and 1 copy of UPC be sent in to get the rebate. Which rebate requires the original UPC depends on what the rebate terms. So that means of the 4 rebates, 2 are original UPC and 2 are copies. Now to qualify for the UPMIR you also need to send in a copy of the CD of the competitive software. So you scan or make a copy of Software A and Software B. Now send in the copy of software A to qualify for Software B UPMIR and Software B's copy will be sent to software A's UPMIR.
Did that make it more clear? You do not need to return the software, nor can you if you open the software package (which you need to in order to make copies of the software CD).

Yes You can buy both the software and use each to qualify for the rebate. Just make sure they are qualified acceptable competitors since some don't qualify for others. Sony, Corel and Avid Pinnacle should work for each other but Nero is a bit more difficult so make sure you read the rebate terms carefully.

I looked at the rebate and it only stated the general term of competitor, now nowhere on the rebate does it state who the competitors are so either they will be lax and not care of they are trying to trick you by withholding info. Go see on their website to see who they lists as their competitor and maybe that will help.

If the upgrade requires the original, does the regular mir accept copies? They can't be stupid and require originals on both of the rebates.

Yup that's how I started this rebates game. One purchase had 3 video software and 4 Anti Virus utilities software and I have been doing these for the past few years and got over $4000 in rebate checks and rebate visa/mc prepaid cards. I'm back to 100% paid on all of my Frys rebates.

I have never ordered done rebates from Fry's before. I just ordered some software. Do I print out my order confirmation as the receipt for the rebates, or will there be a receipt in the package. I noticed on my order confirmation there is no date listed. I know that most rebates require a dated receipt.

Wait until they ship or when you receive the item and then print out the confirmation.

Well the major name brand thing is to avoid breaching contracts with vendors because they can't advertise a product below a certain price but it's a plausible argument for bait and switch if you can somehow prove that was the intent.

Now this "corrections" BS is straight up bait and switch. They never had the product to begin with and the volume of these errors week after week shows that they are more than mere clerical errors. Fry's is begging for another lawsuit here. I haven't seen such frequent "corrections" at any other major retailer.

Yup I took a look at that and that's their problem. Stay away from it to save you the headache. Get something else and move on. It's good that you are reading the rebates as that's very important in doing these FAR deals.

Anyone have an opinion on those JBL floorstanding speakers? Seems like a decent price and the amazon reviews are good (for the few that are there)..

I only mail in my CD copy to get the rebate for NIS
