$10 for $20 or $15 for $30 worth at Threadless via Groupon

It's not valid on sale items anyway But good for someone who wants a decent price on some items they might like.

I bought the $30 groupon for threadless and intended to use it for the.

Without Groupon - The t-shirts were $9.95 yesterday, so I couldn't use the groupon (as it can only be used with non-clearance). So my total was going to be $20 + $5 (shipping) = $25.

With Groupon - Now the t-shirts are $20 each. So I have to pay $40 + $15 (groupon) + $5 (shipping) - 30 = $30

So for the same t-shirts, I'm paying more with the groupon.. which is supposed to save me money. How is this a good deal? The limitation that I can't buy clearance or sale shirts makes it very hard to use.
