Completely different price brackets.

This is a pretty good sale on a nice version of this card (great cooler + and one of the top brands)

If Guild Wars 2 were coming out sooner i would probably jump on this, but im hoping the 660 comes out and pushes prices around or some random crazy sale that puts the 7950 in this range.

So the GTX570 is a little cheaper and has a slightly higher PassMark score on www.videocardbenchmark.net. However, most games show significant gain in FPS with this card, especially Skyrim @ 2560x1600 [anandtech.com].

Doesn't sound like a bad deal at all. You can also get an additioal 5% cash back with Discover ($13-14 cashback - making true cost $254AR)

With the Catalyst 12.7 beta driver (see Tom's Hardware's 7970 GHz Ed. Review), I think the 7870 is a hair above the GTX 580.
