Anybody have tunnel plugs?

Or whatever those things are called. Where you shove a big round thing in your ear and make a giant hole?

I want to know if you change your mind, let's say a couple of years later, after the hole is real big (like, the size of a half dollar, say) - and you stop wearing them - does your ear heal up? Does the lobe go back to a normal shape and size? Or do you just have like a droopy hole for the rest of your life?

This is important.

I was scared to click on this...I figured "tunnel plugs" meant something entirely different.

Though I thought there was another name for those ear lobe rings.

I read up on a bit ago, because I was curious if there was going to be a booming business in lobe restoration in the near future, and apparently for some people, they'll go back to normal, but not others.

That sentence is poorly structured, but I don't feel like fixing it.

What seemed to determine whether things would return to their natural shape?

I mean, the people getting them are a certain subset of society already... I'm wondering if genetics drive the recovery or it's something else entirely (nutrition? overall physical fitness/health? salve or lotion maybe?).

Once you get past about a size 2 gauge you have trouble getting them to heal to their origional shape. Some people have gotten them to heal post 1/2 inch but I know once you go bigger than that the collogen and everything else is stretched so far that it won't grow back together. Therefore there's some corrective surgery out there to fix them that works pretty well.

I had mine stretched to gauge 8 and they went back perfectly fine.

OK is a higher gauge # a bigger or smaller hole? In other words are you some kind of freaky mutant with amazing healing powers, or were you like 1/4 of the way toward irreversible damage?

It's just like any piping gauge...the smaller the number the bigger the hole...so mine weren't stretched too far...but I have a LOT of friends with plugs so I've seen a lot of what happens to them.

Reminds me of the time I told some guy I was gona use his ears as a cock ring...while banging his mom.
