Guild Wars 2
I'm trouble deciding which online retailer do I buy it from, and should I just get the standard version or the deluxe version?First Retailer: Amazon.com ($59.99 + 3.99 One Day Shipping + Pre-Order Bonus (3-day head start, and Hero band)) Second Retailer: Newegg.com ($49.99 (-$10 Promo code) + FREE 3 day shipping BUT No Pre-Order Bonus)) Third Retailer: DLGamer.com ($71.99 (10% discount) + Digital Edition (Guild Wars 2 Deluxe Edition)) OR ($56.99 (5% discount) + Digital Edition)). What do I do? and should I get the deluxe version or the standard version? This will be much appreciated! Crartech The statement below is false

I got the deluxe digital version and now realize its pretty much pointless unless you need the guild bonuses. In my case I now doubt I will create my own guild but I just may. I mostly did this anyway just to support arenanet and their serious effort to take down the monthly fee business model.
My recommendation would be DLGamer or greenmangaming runs specials (where I bought my copy). I bought my copy (DDE) for $72, no tax (10% discount). Unfortunately for me, I work weekends so i've only played the beta weekend events maybe 8 hours total (thats across about 5 playable days of BWE). The game appeared fun but I just didn't have time to get immersed. Last edited by MeatCatalog; 06-30-2012 at 12:53 AM.. Great rebate Companies:
Patriot Memory (4myrebate.com): 6 Weeks Tiger Direct (4myrebate): 3 weeks Rain-X (in house): 3 weeks BAD BAD MAIL IN REBATE COMPANIES: Xigmatek 26 weeks, 14 emails, 2 phone calls (finally received) NZXT 21 weeks, 4 phone calls. Check that was finally received was dated 2 months earlier with a 90 day expiration on it, giving me about 25 days to cash it. Shady shady shady. |

You do not need to pay for 1 day shipping from amazon.
When you preorder from amazon you get the access to the betas + 3 day headstart. You will be emailed a code in order to participate in those. Then after release you will have a grace period to put in your full game code from the actual box Amazon sends you. (ie you can wait with normal prime shipping on it). And realize that DLgamer is a PREPURCHASe retailer. IE, when you order from them you are charged for it. At amazon, you will not pay for the game until it ships. I have one prepurchase from greenmangaming and 2 preorders from amazon in my family, and all of us were playing in the betas and have 3 day headstarts. The next beta is July 20th, so make sure you decide before then ![]() In regards to getting the Deluxe edition, it costs $20 more for the deluxe and none of the bonuses really screamed out at me, most were one time use things. You could instead use that $20 you would have spent on the deluxe and put it into the item shop instead at release Last edited by jc2008; 06-30-2012 at 11:14 AM.. |
