best way to invest $75,000?

I have $75,000 that I am looking to get a better return on.

The problem is I expect to buy a house with the next 12 months and I want access to the funds for down payment.

What would u guys recommend? I currently have it in a amex high yield savings account earning .85 but i feel thats very low.

Any recommendations?

callable CD's. Play the stockmarket. Buy 75k of gold or as i said roulette. It all depends on how quickly you need your money and the risk tollerance.

Buy a piece of property at a low price and flip it, go to Bogota and buy product.

Id put about a third in higher yield CDs, a third in mutual funds that invest heavily in bonds, and a third in mutual funds that invest 60-75% in stocks and 35-40% in bonds..

I bet you don't buy a house when you plan on it. Does anyone? Plus the "all time low rates" are really gonna go "all time" low, so no worries on waiting. Therefore, take on some risk and buy some risk assets (ie anything but bonds). It's not an all or nothing game - unless you really want to risk losing it all or earn nothing.

PUT it all on OREX for the next few months until their new diet drug gets approved.

ARNA just got their approval and they went from $2 to 11+...then now at about 8.50.

Orex was cheaper and now in the $5.50 range Get it before it goes to the 8-9 range and sell it off for good profit.
