Gotta find a good 8GB laptop memory RAM deal!!!
First time posting on this section of the forums and after becoming very desperate whether or not I should buy this laptop deal going on the past week (it's dead now), I finally pulled the trigger on the last hour. Whether it's for good or bad, I can't go back on the decision and regret.http://slickdeals.net/f/4781348-A...-Shipping? So moving forward, everyone is saying I should replace 4GB -> 8GB RAM on this laptop. I've seen lots of deals and all but I'm on a tight budget for the time being and I need to find a good 8GB RAM deal. Can anyone help me find the best or good deal for 8GB RAM going on at the moment??? I'm searching too but want to see if I can find the best deal that'll last until this laptop goes boom and dies.... Also, first time upgrading RAM on laptop, anyone know any actual wiki or steps I can follow very easily once I get the RAM to replace 4GB -> 8GB? Thanks! |

what are you using the laptop for? i would recommend trying it with 4gb for now. I upgraded to 8gb a few months ago from 4gb because it was cheap and did not notice a difference. prices have since increased
if you really want to feel a difference is recommend an ssd such as this one: http://www.slickdeals.net/f/48283...bate-65AR? sometimes laptops can have the optical bay removed so you can install 2 hard drives. gl |

Still haven't found good RAM deals yet... hmm...
I've been wondering if SSD is really worth the replacement of the HDD it comes with... But I prefer RAM over SSD.. |

Now I don't have much time and I saw this deal just now, does anyone here think this is a good 8GB laptop memory RAM deal for my laptop???

If you honestly think that upgrading from 4GB > 8GB will yield a greater performance increase than going from a HDD > SSD, then you have no idea what you're talking about.
If you refer to your husband/wife as 'DH/DW', you're too old to be active on a forum.
If you ask for marriage advice on a(ny) forum, you should seriously reevaluate your life. If you don't know the difference between 'their', 'there', and 'they're', I automatically assume you have a mental disability (same goes for to/two/too and your/you're/yore). |

2. Been mentioning how I needed the 8GB RAM for uses stated above like video editing, gaming, live broadcast streaming, photoshop. 3. So you''re saying having 4GB RAM with SDD will enable me to do what I mention on #2 better than 8GB RAM with HDD?? 4. Say upgrading SSD is better than RAM, as far as price and slickdeals work, SSD will cost at least 2 times (to even 10 times) amount of upgrading RAM. |

Just wait and watch SD for the next frontpage deal for ram.
Unless your moving overseas or something I would just wait. No real reason to rush. replacing ram is very easy. Just like replacing a battery to a cell phone. That G Skill ram is ok for a deal. 38.00 is fine. . Ram prices are always jumping around and I stopped tracking their prices after I bought mine for my laptop and desktop a year ago. And you can ebay your 2+2gb ram for a few bucks to off set some of the cost. I would agree that a Win 64bit laptop should have at least 8gb these days so you definetly would want to upgrade either right now or a little later down the line. Oh and be sure to turn off the god awful "aero" on Windows 7 that thing is a resource hog with 4gb or 8gb. disable that junk. Last edited by oyouno; 07-02-2012 at 07:54 PM.. |

Thanks for advice and will disable that aero! |

That said. Even a blackfriday deal for that Gskill ram would probably still be like 20dollars .
So at most I dont think you would save much money in waiting (38.00 right now) I am a speed junkie though and I have to admit I did order my extra 4gb of ram a few days after I bought my 4gb laptop. |

I'm usually passive when it comes to pulling the trigger with 90-95% of the time not pulling it and I think I've done it again as I decided to pass this offer for possible other 8GB RAM deals in the coming weeks. I think it's best if I get my laptop first, play around with it (with 4GB), then once I get the ease and adjust into this laptop, I should make my way into getting 8GB. Also there is possibility that I'll have to RMA if something does go wrong with the laptop to get a replacement or what not and that takes time... |

Bumping if anyone got any 8GB RAM deals they see lately or any recommendations they got. I know there's several folks on SD that bought this laptop too and perhaps I can help them too by putting this thread up there who have the similar situation of me, trying to find that 8GB RAM.
I heard 1600 MHz 8GB RAM is better than 1333 MHz 8GB RAM despite the fact laptop can only support up to 1333 MHz 8GB RAM b/c the 1600 MHz will automatically go down to 1333 MHz but with better specs than the 1333 MHz original purpose one. Some clarifications on that and if there is any potential damages that may cause for purposely using a higher level RAM that's not supported? |
