This is true. If you did not receive recovery media, which is common, you'll definitely want to make your own.

See page 11-12 regarding burning discs. You will want to burn 'Factory Default' and 'Drivers and Applications'.
It's not a big deal to do. It's just something that slips by the wayside, and are sorely missed should you ever need them.

I'm assuming you can boot into a recovery partition if you want to restore the machine to it's 'Out of the Box' state.
If not the discs will work.
Point being, you have an 'out'. Before you make any personal changes or load personal data on the machine, go nuts.
Uninstall whatever you want. Uncheck any box. Go wild. You can't break it.
Worst case scenario, just reinstall. (LOL, I let you decide if that's good advice.)
