SUPER strange Gmail inbox issue

were purged from Trash. However, we believe there may have been

Also, if you think that mail may be missing or misfiled we suggest that
you search all messages once again, in case these messages are in All
Mail, Spam, or Trash.

To search all messages:
1. Sign in to Gmail, then click 'Show search options' at the top of your
Gmail page.
2. Fill in the search fields with the details you remember confidently
from the mail you believe is missing. If you're not certain about any
field, leave it blank.
3. In the 'Search:' drop-down menu, select Mail & Spam & Trash.
4. Click the Search Mail button.
5. Look for a message in the search results displayed.

We unfortunately will not be able to respond to any further emails on this
case, or to duplicate requests for message recovery.

It won't hurt at all to change your password. I would recommend it. I would also turn on Google's 2 step verification. It makes the process of someone signing into your account orders of magnitude more difficult if not impossible. http://googleblog.blogspot.com/20...-your.html
