Lowe's has the Harbor Breeze 52" Crosswinds Ceiling Fan with Remote Control for $62.01 after movers coupon or military discount, plus tax. Available in brushed nickel [lowes.com], white [lowes.com] or oil-rubbed bronze [lowes.com]. Normally $88.89. On page 13 of 4th of July ad.

Free in store pickup or buy it B&M. My cart shows that this one qualifies for free shipping. 18% slicker if you got in on the gift card deal.

Very contemporary. Hundreds of reviews, above a 4 star average. Includes 4" down rod to bring bottom of blades 12" from ceiling (so legal for full 8' ceilings). Remote included, but probably requires you to buy a 9v for it. My other remotes go a full year on generic 9 volts. Blades are double sided reversible type- maple color on one side, cherry on the other.

Cannot be installed as ceiling hugger. Candelabra base requires slightly more expensive CFLs or LEDs, or you can use the 3 included incandescent bulbs. For 9' and taller ceilings you'll need a longer down rod sold desperately - see product page.

Note: All Hunter fans also 20% off, but they tend to be a bit higher-end in styling and price. Example: 60" Regalia [google.com].

Does anyone here have experience with the Hampton Bay brand fans over a longer period of time, like a few years? I've had really good results from Hunter fans, and I'd be willing to pay a bit more for quality, but if these Hampton fans hold up well, they'd be a consideration.

IIRC the fan in our living room is Hampton Bay, been using it for at least 8 years and still good! Big Grin

There was a sign in a NH Lowe's I visited the other day that advertised "20% off all in-stock ceiling fans" that was good for a few more days (not sure of the exact dates).... does this include that discount, or might this be an even better deal in-store?

Edit: n/m... it's off all in-stock HUNTER ceiling fans.

We have had Hampton Bay in our kitchen for 6+ years and in our living room for 3+ and I have to say I like them a bit more than the Hunter in our Bedroom.. Very happy with them so far Smilie

It's actually Harbour Breeze. Hampton Bay is Home Depot.

Bought a Hampton Bay for our living room 7 or 8 years ago. Never had any problems with it! nod

Where can I get "slightly"more expensive Candelabra CFLs? Seems like they are double the cost of regular CFL's.

I have this exact ceiling fan for a couple of years for this price or slightly less and it has been great.

Thanks, and reps to all 3 of you. Apparently, though, I now need to ask the same question about "Harbour Breeze".

I gather that the two "HB" brands are house brands for Home Depot and Lowes and are manufactured by various Chinese companies (not that other brands aren't as well).

So...anyone have longer-term experience with "Harbour Breeze"?

I thought Hampton Bay was the Home Depot brand and Harbor Breeze was Lowe's brand. They sell both brands in both stores?
