The fabric is great, but you need to get someone to come out and put Guardsman protection on it. My parents have this set, and didn't have Guardsman protection the first year, and it made the couch look old. If you would sit on the cushion wearing dark clothes, the fabric of the cushion would get these little pile pieces of fabric/fuzz that would be dark black or navy blue in color and they would stick to the cushions. With the Guardsman, you can spill just about anything on it, like ketchup and it wipes clean with a dry paper towel. There is nothing to hold the separate pieces together, I would recommend that you purchase attachment clips and rubber pads to put underneath the feet, as the pieces will slide around if you don't have it up against a wall. I have a friend who said her set came with connectors, though my parents set didn't, so maybe it's something the manufacturer has changed recently? The material is soft, and comfortable to sit on. However, the cushions flatten down fast. Within two to three days, the cushions look like they need ironed and it looks worn out almost immediately after you start using it. The back cushions also flatten out in the same manner if you are constantly leaning against them. The cushions don't bounce back when you stand up, so they always look flattened. It's huge to move around and to get home in the first place if you don't have it delivered. It takes 2 trips in a large pickup truck, and barely fits inside of the the average size rental moving truck. When the cushions sink in, it makes the whole couch look uneven, like there are rolling hills going throughout your couch. Sort of reminds me of the ripples in those Astro Jumps at children's parties. I don't recommend it for larger people, my mom is 250 and the piece that she sits on gave out (literally cracked the wood in the frame) in less than 3 months and it was not returnable at that point, and because it was due to her weight rather than the craftsmanship on the unit itself the warranty was no help. All in all, the set lasted 11 months and was complete trash at that time. The ottoman remains, but that's the only piece still in tact, probably because the only thing that sits on it is a blanket. |

All in all, I feel that for what I paid (and I shopped around a lot) I feel it was a good deal, although time will tell. I will definitely check into getting the fabric protected though -- with a 9-year-old son, accidents are inevitable ![]() Thanks again for the review. Also, though I am surprised that Costco wouldn't allow a refund after only 4 months. I believe they stand behind their merchandise longer than that. I would check again if your parents are not happy with the quality

Just sat around on one today at a Costco.. didn't look flat to me, I'd assume that many people have sat on this with various weights. Was very comfortable and loved the price, didn't notice any flat cushions..I'm not too worried about the aesthetics of the flat cushions, just wondering if it would feel rounded, or stiff after a while..they should just use visco (memory) foam for this... It's between this one or a sectional that has individual pieces at easy life...
http://www.easylifefur You don't have to buy all the pieces in that set, as they are sold separately, 149 for the ottoman, 199 for the armless chair section and 229 (if i remember correctly) for the corner pieces...each section comes with 2 very large pillows and the corners come with a small accent pillow as well. Quality actually seems better than the Costco modular, and one plus is that the pillows are high enough that it gives you some neck/head support whereas the canby one doesn't have any neck/head support. Good point on the return policy though.. will be taking the girl friend to see tomorrow, will come down to a mixture of practicality/aesthetics... also have 2 cats, so I gotta' figure out which one is less prone to threads being pulled out. |

Any more thought?
I am looking at buying this couch as well. Is it still holding up to your expectations? And are you still happy with it overall. Thank you |

. It's very nice, comfortable, and does not overwhelm my small living room. I'd say to anyone hesitating to get it - then purchase some nice accent pillows and maybe an ottoman tray and enjoy

My husband and I purchased this set the end of July. So far we love it. We purchased a small sectional from IKEA at the same time for our kids play room. I thought the IKEA one wasn't too bad to sit on, but once we got these in the IKEA couch feels like a rock. These are very soft and durable. We have a toddler and a baby and they wipe down very easy. We also have two cats and a previous poster said cat hair and lint stuck. We have not had any issues with that. The couch has hooks to link them together, but the ottomans don't. We just moved them around yesterday for a football party and they unhooked very easy. I did notice that there is a spot of stitching that looks like the manufacturer had an issue with so I am contacting Costco today about how to get it replaced. Hopefully they can do something. All in all, we love these couches and are very happy we bought them.

costco's return policy online:
With few exceptions, Costco has a 100% guarantee on all of our merchandise. If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, simply return the product and packaging, along with the receipt, if possible, to your local Costco warehouse. |

I too want to purchase sectional after having a TERRIBLE experience with Living Spaces with my existing one that tuend out to be a piece of junk. I work at Costco as a refunds clerk and can tell you HANDS DOWN Costco has the best return policy. My suggestion is to go a NON-union building because the union ones are less apt to "help" you or at least do it with ease for you. My warehouse (non-union) takes stained mattresses, 7 yr old bamboo cutting boards, pants from 1999, and pots returned in a pampers box...you name it!
