Kingston HyperX 3K SH103S3/120G 2.5" 120GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) (Stand-Alone Drive) $90AR

I still don't understand why manufacturers aren't going more towards the 'hybrid' drives. They have some that have 8GB SSD and total 750GB, but I would prefer something like 64GB SSD with a total 750GB hybrid drive. I guess eventually that will become the norm. For laptops, we need SSD, and we need STORAGE in a single drive (since most laptops have only ONE drive). If I manufactured these things, I'd jump out in front of everyone else and give us what we NEED.

Or - do they already have something like this that I'm missing? Seagate has the 750GB with 8GB ssd, but that's all I've seen.

how is this drive compared to the OCZ or Crucial drives?

Reason is most SSD mfg is done by memory folks not HD folks, so you'll have ltd offerings.

. FWIW Had to RMA my OCZ twice so far, no issues with Kingston as of yet.

I got a Kingston 96GBv100+ with a rebate, a while back. No problems getting the rebate & still happy with the drive.

Depends which OCZ drive. The Petrol is absolute garbage. So many bad reviews but I chanced it anyway and it failed on me twice. I just RMAd it and got an Octane as a replacement which I will install tomorrow. Not sure how good the Octane is. I think other OCZ are a little better (agility 3, vertex 3, etc) just stay away from Petrol.
