I have been waiting patiently for the last 5 weeks for a shipping date for my Nexus 7 ordered on 7/4. I have not received any communication from J&R since this generic backorder notice on 7/26.

Please give me an update on when my tablet will ship. At a minimum, I expect a basic level of customer service to keep me informed on any delays. The complete lack of updates from your end is very troubling. I hope to hear from you soon.

Just got my Nexus 7 from J&R. I notice a very slight screen lift on the left side (<1mm), but nothing that is very noticeable. No dead pixels and backlight bleeding and speakers seem okay. So far so good (knock on wood).

My original didn't have this problem at all so I assume it's one of the many defects.

And I've been calling almost every day since I sent in my Nexus 7 to J&R to get an exchange on July 31. 10 days later and they still keep telling me they have no stock, it's on order from Asus, and they don't know when they will get it in. They did tell me they have 100 on order and when the customer service guy checked to see how many people have it on order he sounded stunned at how many he saw. One person told me I would be at the front of the line to get an exchange, but I forgot to ask again today.

I really really hope they can send me my replacement by next week and it has no problems because I really liked the Nexus 7, but I don't want to go through this wait again.

I'm so glad mine has come already and defect free. This whole waiting game sounds like a pain.

Called J&R today. They said that there are ~200 orders that have not been fulfilled. I guess my wife and I are two of the 200.

It's taking them over 2 weeks to get 100 in. Good luck getting yours if you're in the back of that line.

Just fixed my slight screen lifting issue without any problems! (Opened up the back and tightened the screws) Feels perfect now!

Finally got a staples coupon and used it in store at the kiosk. They gave me a delivery date of 8/20. I'm going to just cancel my exchange from J&R tomorrow and ask for a refund. At least staples gives me an actual delivery date and it'll be easier for me to exchange it in person.

I hope I'm wrong and hate to burst your bubble, but it will come back. The screw tightening "fix" hasn't had much success and the two times I've tried it, not only did the screen lift come back, but it was worse than before.

Good luck though, maybe that's all yours needed!

I wiped and reflashed the stock image twice over the weekend, each time the touch screen issues cropped back up soon -- mine is going back today. Expecting a long wait for the replacement... :-/
