I paid $75 for the 8 piece set on clearance. It is very good cookware. But this is not a slick deal.

Yes, you certainly got a great deal on the 8 piece set. The cheapest that set was posted on SD was $109, so I am guessing you lucked into it.

This set is typically $249, has dropped to $229 for stretches and hits $209 occasionally, like now.

Check out the sizes of each piece within each set. For people that want/need the larger sizes, this is a good deal. The lowest I have seen these (and I missed it) was $199 about a year ago.

This set has the 12qt fully clad stockpot. Normally this pot sells for $90 on its own and is very similar to the $300 all-clad 12qt stockpot. It definitely makes this set worth $75 more than the 8pc.

I managed to get the 10pc for the mentioned $199 price - this is the lowest it has been since then, and is definitely slick. This set is a slick deal at its regular price of $249 when compared to most other cookware on the market.

I don't know about the price, haven't done the research, but this is definitely good merchandise. These are all comparable to the All-Clad product line, and all well reviewed by experts such as Cooks Illustrated.

I question why anyone would need such a stockpot - I'm sure even most high end restaurants would just use a cheapish big (probably aluminum) stockpot. I'd maybe look at a cheaper set and get a stockpot from a restaurant supply store. This is a decent deal if you can use the pans though, just make sure you're not wasting money getting a set with that tri-ply stockpot...

Not worried, just don't like how it conducts heat and the feel of the pot. Absolute best of course is cast iron followed by a great quality stainless.

How does this set compare to the 12 or 10 pcs set offered on home.woot ? My wife and I are looking for a nice stainless steal set.
