SSD is not recognized?
I just plugged in SATA and power cable on a brand new SANDISK 240GB SSD as a additional drive (for data transfer). However, it doesn't show under my computer as a driver. Do I have to do some extra steps let windows 7 recognize this SSD?Thank you. ** additional info. It shows at device manager - disk drives though. |

I don't think a controller card is really worth it IMO. You would need at least a pci express x4 card to even see the speeds that SATA III can do. An x1 card would be no better than what you already have. Also sequential read/write speeds aren't really where you get system snappiness anyway. I would just wait until you do a system upgrade and then your drive will be SATA 3 ready. |
