Great deal. The super hmc uv(0) is 40 to 50 bucks on ebay and regarded as the best filter by Hoya and one of the best ever made.

If you assing a value for the filter, lets use $40 for the sake of argument, then after cash back the lens is $370 shipped, which is not bad at all for the Nikon version of this lens. It's not a cheap Tiffen filter.

interesting, most sellers are around $40-50. but one has it for $15, see:

How common of a problem are counterfit filters?
Other than looking at images, is there an easy way to tell a counterfit?
I wish those were from Amazon.


Edit: BTW, the same lens went FP from Abes at $414 without a filter, don't remember how much CB was available back then.

According to this review the non-Super version of the Hoya HMC actually transmits light about the same or slightly better than the Super:

These were comparing the UV(O) version of the filter made in Japan, but AFAIK these are discontinued now and are harder to find. I have a couple of the non-Super UV(C) filters made in the Philippines. They seem pretty good and on par with my Marumi MC filters made in Japan. It's not clear whether the Abes of Maine ones are UV(O) or UV(C).

Fantastic Deal you will not find this lens cheaper then this price... it was 499 until this month where Sigma is offering 50 off ...

I was looking for this lens for my Nikon D7000 which is a beast... problem with this lens is that its a hit or miss and you may need to go through 4-5 versions before you get one that focuses well.

it has a front focus back focus problem and thats because Sigma quality control sucks.

This lens is much better then Canon or Nikon versions where Nikon is the only one matching unless you buy the L class Canon for 1500 dollars.

This lens produces the best Bokeh and even better then the 1.2L canon. This lens also weights 1.2 lbs lol so if you have a shitty old Rebel or something its going to be front heavy... get a battery grip for your camera.

Op thank you very much for this deal since the filter for this thing would be at least 40 bucks and i ordered it from BandH for 450 i saved 70 bucks now.
