I havent noticed the change yet. Ive been buying some of the large ticket items(not free after rewards) such as chairs and luggage and using coupons but still receiving full reward amount.

The fixed reward items (case paper, chairs) were not impacted by use of coupon, only the 1 cent items. The 1 cent items after rewards are treated just like the % back rewards items (you get back what you pay)..

Meh, I'll pass this week. I use rechargeables anyhow.

At least according to the terms found in next week's flyer (for me on the bottom of page 6), there is no restriction so the offers should be available in-store, online and via phone.

The best information regarding online validity will be when the OfficeMax.com MaxPerks page is updated early Sunday morning.

GoHalos and kfpanda have it correct. While previously 1 cent after rewards items were treated as fixed value rewards and coupons did not reduce their rewards payouts, they are now treated as 100% back in rewards items and coupons do reduce their rewards payouts ... at least from what I have read and experienced:

It depends on the type of bonus rewards offer:

---- if it's a percentage back bonus rewards offer, then using a coupon will reduce the rewards payout. Dollar off coupons are still useful in reducing the initial outlay, the eventual rewards payout, and the amount of sales tax paid if applicable.
---- if it's a net $0.01 after bonus rewards offer, then using a coupon will reduce the rewards payout. Dollar off coupons are still useful in reducing the initial outlay, the eventual rewards payout, and the amount of sales tax paid if applicable.
