Roll-your-own cigarette operations to be snuffed out

You can. You can rent them from any tobacco store willing to become a "cigarette manufacturer" so that they can legally "rent" the machine to you.

Or you can buy your own $3k machine for your personal use. ;-)

interesting thing is.. here is the smoking population by income.



the majority of smokers are the bare bottom class. You're essentially taking away a cheaper option and leaving them w/ the more expensive option or quitting all together. Those incomes in the chart are pretty low also.. wouldn't a good portion of those people qualify for government assistance in some form?

Now THAT is something I'd really like to see! Meaningful legislation that is relevant and should be passed. Plus it would be fun to go to CA and carry my concealed weapon just to rub their noses in it. Like I have said, I passed federal b/c checks and regulations on top of my state's to get my CCW so I should be able to enjoy reciprocity across the USA.

But yet leaving them with the even cheaper option of actually rolling their own cigarettes. The only thing this re-classification effects is the use of the giant rolling machines themselves. Smokers of any income bracket can still purchase tubes & loose tobacco.

I remember seeing these little contraptions from back in the day. I saw college kids sitting around rolling stacks of cigarettes b/c they didn't have enough money to buy cartons. I know it took some time.. If we're talking about low income adults.. do you think they could be doing something more efficient w/ their time than rolling cigarette for an hour or so? I suppose if you're a house wife watching a child that would make sense.. but if you're a PT worker making $10k annually. I'm thinking you might wanna be looking for another job?

regardless.. I think keeping options open is a positive thing vs. a bad thing. Although under ObamaCare do we really want people smoking? Actually do we even want people overeating, or not being active etc.. You can raise a claim now for every unhealthy activity.

It all depends on the smoke. We have had common cigarettes advertised to death in front of our faces as children (at least I did) and we smoked cigarettes. Name brand cigarettes are by far the most unhealthy smoke out there.

Cigars are much better. I don't inhale the smoke from mine because I like the flavor of them. Other tobacco products from smoke shops made of real tobacco are much healthier for you than any mainstream tobacco product. I have a local tobacco shop and they only sell real, 100% tobacco which is free of those carcinogenic chemicals.

When you do the research, you realize that smoking is no more unhealthy than ordering a big mac for lunch and drinking a sugary drink. In fact, smoking does have health benefits. Problem is that most smokers choose the wrong tobacco and it's the equivalent of eating salisbury steak instead of a t-bone.
