biggest HDTV for around $300?

can you guys point me to some tv deals for $300? Not looking for the best quality, but just for size (40", 42"?) and ok reliability. I would need this relatively quickly. Thanks!

Best buys insignia 40 inch. Caught it on sale for $250 a couple of weeks ago.

for 280 and no tax that is a good deal.
I would just order it from new egg and save 40bucks vs walmart with tax.

You can get a 40inch sceptre for 299+tax from walmart

Returns would be easier and you can just go pick it up at walmart instead of waiting a full week from new egg.

Are you wanting to go up to 46"? or just get a better 40/42"?

I think either 42 or 46 would be ideal for their space. I'm going to keep an eye on the front page, but yea if you guys have deals I may have overlooked, that would be great, plus i know nothing about tv's and brands, ect... Thanks!

1080p, 60hz, LED edge lit. I consider Philips a midrange brand.

JVC $498+shipping or tax (sams) [samsclub.com]
1080p, 60hz, LCD. Not sure what JVC has turned into today, but this gets good reviews surprisingly.

Westinghouse $448+shipping or tax (sams) [samsclub.com]
1080p, 120hz, LED. Westinghouse is pretty low end so i would read lots of reviews on this.

40/42"

LG $430 (amazon no tax or shipping) [amazon.com]
1080p, 60hz, LCD. While LG is a higher end name this tv is not really anything high end.

Samsung $450+tax (best buy) [bestbuy.com] found cheaper at TigerDirect for $397 [tigerdirect.com]
1080p, 60hz, LCD. Same with the LG, Samsung is a higher end name, but this tv is pretty low tech.

Toshiba $388 (amazon) [amazon.com]
1080p, 60hz, LCD. Midrange brand.

Panasonic $500 (amazon) [amazon.com]
1080p, 60hz, LCD. Higher end brand known for reliability although known more for their plasmas.

These are just some ideas for you, most are just ok deals nothing front page worthy. Decide if the person you are buying for cares about brand recognition if so you'll have to pay a little more for a little less product. Good luck in your search.
