No credit card info required.

Mumble is a voice chat application for groups similar to programs like Ventrilo and TeamSpeak. The client runs on any Windows, Max OS X or Linux machine. Mumble is a low-latency, low resource usage, but high sound quality voice communication solution making it the ideal choice for professional gamers.

From user "dealwars" (important security consideration):
Quote :
Don't use a secure password with this one. At least not on initial signup.

Idiots send the password confirmation in the clear in email.

----------------------------

Well, if that's the case, they're storing the passwords unsecurely. If their database gets compromised, your full password and account will be too. I would recommend just using a password you don't care about or use exclusively for mumble.

Free to download the client but to host a server there is a monthly fee.

I suppose it sounds better than "ideal choice for conference calls with your grandparents and in-laws!"

Pretty sweet if you only have a few people you chat with. I found a deal for a 35 man mumble server for ~ $30 a year, which i thought was a killer deal. If anyone is interest i can give ya the link. the host has been pretty good so far really good ping with 100% up-time so far.

Going to get this since its free lol but don't imagine myself using it much since its only 5 person, but never know.

Thanks OP.

That is a great deal compared to TS or Vent servers. The 5 man works great for BF3 since its 4 man squads anyway. (BattleComm blows)

I'm pretty sure he was making a gay joke. Maybe you were just powering past that.

Mumble owns TS, not even close really, mumble is phone like quality in both latency(response time) and possibly codec(sound quality). Has a little more resource usage to maintain the call without cutting out but that should be no problem on a modern processor.
