Good Basic Cellphone for Verizon Wireless
I am trying to find a good, reliable basic cellphone (non-smartphone) for my mom.I'm basically looking for a phone: * On Verizon * Not requiring a data plan * Not requiring use of upgrades or signing contracts * With decent reviews and won't die on * Is a Slickdeal! Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! |

I'd lean towards some kind of flip phone since those are more obvious to use, (no need to lock the keys before putting in a purse), and protect the screen more.
I don't fully know the situation here, but I would also say check out Page Plus. Of course, with PP, your mom would kind of have to get some kind of kickass touch screen phone just because she can. Joe Biden says Buy a Shotgun! Wackiness ensues! [youtu.be]

Another vote for PagePlus. They use Verizon's network.
Phones. Activate an old Verizon phone, or buy a new one from PagePlus. https://www.pagepluscellular.com/...hones.aspx Plans - 400minutes for 120 days = $25 ($8/month). https://www.pagepluscellular.com/...nutes.aspx My kid wanted a cell phone, so I activated Mom's old Verizon cell phone on PagePlus website. Works just fine. No big deal if she loses/breaks it. |

Can you bring her into a verizon store to see the phones? I find that really helps when someone is trying to decide. I ended up getting a basic flip phone for myself, as I don't live on my phone at all. But they had several different kinds and one really stood out as the most intuitive to use for me.
