Well I was thinking of getting a pair until I saw they are only about $24 new, so they are a okay deal. But now that I see the HD428s you pointed out for $20 makes them a great deal since they sell new for about $77. Now I am not sure if I should wait for the HD428 to come around again.

There have been plenty of deals for these headphones for ~$15, which is what I bought them for years ago, brand new...

I love these headphones. I had a pair my wife accidentally stepped on. Then they were new on newegg for $13 once. Now she wants a pair for herself so I'll get here these. Thumbs Up!

I already have a set of their HD202 (version 1, not 2). I don't want to assume based on the numbers, but is my HD202 supposed to be as good or better than this HD201??

No. The 201s came out after the 202s, IIRC. The 201s are definitely better. I've used both, and while the 202s have more boomy bass, that is the only thing they have on the 201s, which are better in every other aspect. Personally, I dont even consider the boomy bass of the 202s good because of how muddy they sound, so really, the 201s are better in every way, but that may change if a person actually prefers boomy, muddy bass.

The 201s, when they first came out, were a huge craze over on Head-fi. They sound pretty good, but the kicker was their price: ~$25 way back when. These days, there are so many other options around that price, it doesn't have quite the appeal it used to, but they are still pretty decent. At $13, assuming the refurbs are as good as new ones, they are a pretty solid set of headphones.

I can also provide some positive feedback for VM Innovations. I've bought quite a few things from them and I've always received quick replies to my questions and tracking numbers very promptly. One time something I ordered was out of stock, so they called me the next business day (I ordered after they closed) first thing in the morning and asked me for what i'd like to do (refund, wait, etc.). Good customer service in my book.
