I'm looking into getting a tablet to do surveys, couponing, internet browsing, email, Skype/webcam, wireless/WiFi. I initially thought a tablet is a computer, but was told it is a mobile device??? I'll have wireless internet/WiFi Will a tablet work? For SURVEYS: Chrome or Firefox browsers (in addition to IE). Adobe Flash Video or Player?? compatible. webcam/skype wireless and WiFi For COUPONING (printing): coupon printer - Browser Add-On. IE-ActiveX JAVA From Coupons.com website: Windows Coupon printing is currently supported on all versions of Microsoft Windows 8, 7, Vista, XP, Server 2003, and 2000 when used with Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher, Mozilla Firefox 2.0 or higher, Netscape Navigator 8.0 or higher, Google Chrome, Apple Safari, Opera, and most MSN and AOL browsers. 1.) Chrome or Firefox browsers: Yes. IE: NO.
Adobe Flash: Yes (however being discontinued for support soon, but will continue to work). Webcam/Skype: Yes Wifi: Yes Couponing: No, No, No. You would be better off getting a cheap netbook that runs Windows, for your situation. A tablet running Android, is a mobile device. It will not be able to run everything your Windows PC will run. |

I agree an android or ipad won't really work for this. Neither have IE, Full Java Machine capability (They do run javascript), and the current version of the coupon printer does not support the operating systems.
What type of tablet computer were you talking about. That term is sometimes hard to define for stuff like this. Vague questions receive vague answers . . . . . .

The tablet just sounds sexy, lightweight, portable, and convenient. My 4-yr old Toshiba laptop is a 6 lb, 1hr battery life, on power cord lifesupport. She's hot, but in a totally different way. I like to have the laptop on my lap and the fan and battery run hot and are frying my thighs. |

My Android tablet won't run the coupon printer if thats what you mean. Also on Facebook, the freebies don't work since you need to run the Facebook apps. For everything else you need a tablet would be great.
Look at the netbook posted in HD, It's 250 and should do all you need. http://slickdeals.net/f/4855424-A...g-Best-Buy |

Thanks for your suggestion about the netbook. I followed your link to the Acer, I also saw a similar one at my local BestBuy store. I think I'll go back and check it out further. |

I got my lenovo netbook for I think like $220? a few years back. Upgraded the ram to 2 gb ($15?) installed windows 7 and bought an extended battery off of ebay that lasts like 12 hours for like $30?
Total cost just over for far less than I bet you were expecting and it does everything a full laptop would do (minus a smaller screen). but it has the portability of a tablet, battery life of a tablet, but useability of a laptop. |
