Kohls 30% off (July 13-22)

I do understand why they would not take the $10 newspaper coupons (the ones they used to stick onto the front of the Sunday paper) because those were easy to fake, but I have never heard of $10 email signup coupons. I have seen the $5 email signup coupons for a long time at the register, maybe it was some time back (or I just forgot, my memory sucks ). But like I mentioned before, all they have to do is disallow KC on store credit returns, but I don't see any real issue with stacking return credit cards to have enough to buy what you want.

But the way I see it, $10 is $10 no matter whether it's stacked with other store credit, it all comes out to the same thing in the end. I never felt like I was scamming them, since I wasn't getting anything extra, I was just applying the amounts in a different way.

But too late now, it's changed and will never go back to the way it was. And I will still shop there, just less than I used to since the changes. Not mad, you know, just disappointed.

I loved the time I visited the store by chance only to discover they were adding a ridiculous percent off amount to already deeply clearanced items, and I went bonkers buying shirts and jeans for a final price of $3 each!
B-Days and Christmas were taken care of the SD way!
Seems these are twice a year sales.

I guess the new change only applies to when people return something they used to earn the Kohls cash on. The old policy of getting merchandise credit for products bought with Kohls cash still remains.

However, the fine print on the Kohls cash says

Quote : Return value of merchandise purchased with a Kohl’s Cash Coupon may be subject to adjustment.

I have no idea what that could mean though.

Here is a partial scan of the ad I received in the mail today for this upcoming sale dealing with the Kohl's Cash terms. The terms aren't especially clear to me but I don't shop with KC that often.

Has anyone else stopped receiving the flyers in the mail with the discount scratch offs? It seemed to change when I selected e-billing for my Kohl's charge account.

There is so much confusion with the new KC rules. I read a bunch of different sources, and how I understood it was that only the transactions EARNING the KC would be affected. So say I spend $50 and earn $10 KC. Then I decide to return $20 of the $50, so they deduct the $10 KC from my return like I never earned it at all (given that I had already spent the $10 KC) What happens when the return is less than $10? Do you owe them money?? Returns in which you redeemed kohls cash should still give you merchandise credit for the amount of KC used. Can someone who works there or is 100% sure confirm ?

Also, if you redeem kohls cash during a kohls cash earning period, can the kohls cash earn more kohls cash? Anyone know?

I do most of my clothes shopping online. Thus, I bought a bunch of dresses in varying sizes because I wasn't sure of the fit during the last "earn KC" event. I returned one of the dresses valued around $30 and the register automatically reduced my $20 KC to $10.

A week later, I redeemed $30 worth of KC (earned from various orders) and paid ~$9 OOP on a credit card. I didn't like the fit of the clearance shoes I bought from that order and returned them. The register refunded the full value of the shoes (~$8) back onto my credit card.

To answer your last question, you can still earn KC even when you redeem KC if your order meets the minimum after all coupons.

The website says:

Quote : If you have already used your Kohl’s Cash coupon, you will get a refund in the form of your original payment, and the amount of the Kohl’s Cash will be deducted from your return amount.

I'm assuming if you return less than $10, they will say thank you and not refund you anything. Later if you return more items from the receipt, they will only deduct $2 from the return.

They don't pro-rate probably because they don't want people to use the Kohls cash as another 20% off over the 30%/20%/15% off by buying/returning to reach multiple of $50.

However, I returned something on a receipt with a dollar off coupon and they pro-rated the discount from the dollar off coupon on the return.

right now I'm looking at paying 18% of the subtotal in shipping if it's 8.99 as stated on their website

Nothing really special about this deal - Kohls have 30% off most of the time.

I get only e-bills. But still get their ads and flyers with discount codes.
