Need help! Cancel hotel non-refundable reservation

Any friends know we can cancel a hotel reservation in non-refundable rate?
I booked 2 room 2 nights in hilton at hotel.com today. But I have a cancel it. Remember there is a thread mention that call the hotel to change checkout date then cancel next day, but can not find the thread!

If you have a legitimate reason for canceling beyond just not wanting the room, I'd call and explain your situation, speaking to a manager if necessary. Ultimately, they may have the discretion to let you out of the room if there's a good reason -- especially if it's within 24 hours of booking. Or, suggest that you would be willing to move your stay to a different date or property so they still get your reservation.

Be polite, non-demanding, and tell the truth. It won't always work, but it's worth a shot. I've gotten out of non-refundable hotel rooms and even flights when I had a legitimate reason.
