this is the mechanical keyboard I use at home, I have a few thoughts
1) The wristpad is useless, get your own 2) The software stinks and corsair is slow at releasing new versions 3) Not partial to the red switches, I find them too easy to accidentally activate with my chronic hoverfingers. But switches are always up to preference. My fav balance are browns. 4) The backlighting is uneven due to some being dome, not a huge thing but something to be aware of 5) Many people have issues with some buttons being dome some being switch, I've never found it a huge issue 6) Keycaps are ok, I kind of don't like the texture of them personally.. they feel "dry" Now the pros 1) Price... for the features it's a good price. Media, backlight, macro 2) Build quality and design, I love how it floats... like my turtleneck and chain And as always my biggest beef is #4, Switch type is paramount |

Thinking of jumping on this but not quite sure - I've been really interested in a mechanical keyboard. Not so much for gaming purposes, since I'm not really a gamer, but more for coding both at home and work.
I tried some display keyboards at a Fry's and the switches I liked the most were the blues and reds - is this the best deal we'll see on a red, or should I wait for a better deal/go for the blues? |

Brown is also acceptable. |

Again, I won't be gaming much, so NKRO and other such features that are important to gaming precision aren't as important to me as switch type or the keyboard's overall durability. I say this because I'm liking the K90, and I've seen the XArmor wireless mech with the brown switches and would consider that and a number of other keyboards too. All that said, what kind of deals should I expect to look for in blues and browns? Last edited by cgbuenaventura; 07-11-2012 at 07:32 PM.. |

If you don't need a numpad, I would do a search on the Coolermaster quickfire rapid. Quality + not too expensive SGK-4000-GKCL1 (Blue Switch) SGK-4000-GKCM1 (Brown Switch) |
