There are plenty of reviews and videos on youtube. Try searching for just V700 instead of V700K or V700MK. They are all the same camcorder but different colors/memory options.

can anyone recommend a car mount for this thing? I just got one and considering putting int my car as a "car DVR" just to record as I drive.

I live in NYC and a curteous and safe driver. but all these jacrkarses and idiot drivers these days is dangerous. With a new car I got I'm sure I'll get into a fender or accident from some idiot sooner or later.

with this I have video proof. and also I can use this to record cute things my 1st baby do.

I have this camera it's a replacement from Panasonic of the TM90k I bought from amazon last year for $299. My issue with the hdc-tm90k, which this camera is basicaly the same thing as, was the unit gets very hot on the bottom and the palm side. Panasonic says the high heat is normal, but the reviews don't show that. I demanded a replacement and got this 700. Expect this camera to take 7 to 10 seconds to adjust to the light in the room or outside. You will see this on the playback, all the sudden colors just change dramaticaly. Also the heat issue also happens with this camera. I gave up dealing with panasonic and just deal with it.

I haven't experienced the heat issue but 90% of my shooting has been indoors where it's cooler so maybe this is an issue with higher ambient temps? In any case, you could always buy a cheap monopod or camcorder handle if it becomes bothersome. I do agree that the auto setting can take a bit of time to adjust when panning depending on large changes in lighting in the frame. The only way to get around this is to shoot in manual mode, but that takes a bit of practice and experience to get the settings right on the fly.

edit: i misread your post, i initially thought you were saying the v700 gets hot.

Glad it is sold out, so tempting to pull the trigger, however, I am pretty sure I will not use it at all

for someone that have this camera can you answer this two quesiton?
1) does it have an external mic input?
2) since it doesn't have an optical view finder. can you blank out/disable the LCD when you are recording?
because the light bothers and distractthe people sitting behind me in the theaters.

Didn't take me extra anytime. I actually had the bookmarks saved from when i was doing research before i ended up buying it over a month ago. I know amazon had it recently for $380 for a very short period of time so if you're in the market, you should check them often or set an alert on camels.
