Thread Details

Kindle Fire's are being clearance out @ Target Stores for $139.30
Regular $199 everywhere and I've never seen them on sale before yet at almost $60 off.
Arguably the best E-Reader out there and runner up to an IPad at half the price.
Picked up a couple of these today and they still had six left there.
Was told they are being clearance out because they will no longer be carrying them.
They also are clearing out all the other Kindle readers.

KINDLE FIRE [amazon.com]
  • 7" Display
  • Built in Wi-Fi
  • Fast dual-core processor
  • Movies, apps, games, reading and more
  • Vibrant color touchscreen
  • Web browsing and email
  • Reads like real paper - no eye strain
  • No glare, read in bright sunlight
  • Up to 1 month battery life

It looks like the sale projection for Kindle went over the cliff after the Nexus 7 announcement.

I haven't seen any Fires at my local stores, but a CRAP-TON of the official Amazon Kindle Touch cases (black, non-lighted version). They were $19.99 (half off, I think).

That & Target won't be carrying them anymore due to an agreement with Apple.

I got mine for $123 when Target had a YMMV clearance on Black Friday last year (PM'd to Walmart - lucky I know). Trying to sell it now to buy a Nexus 7 though.

Well then I choose to argue. I don't think any tablet makes a good eReader due to the backlit screens. The E-ink display makes things like the Kindle much easier on the eyes and easier to view in direct light. If you're primarily looking to read books, then get a straight up eReader.

And while I'm not an Apple fanboy, I can definitely say that the iPad blows the Fire away.
