HSPA on AT&T should be good for around 3-4mbps down. 4G on T-mobile varies based on tower and phone, but in congested areas I get 5-7mbps down and in uncongested areas I average around 8-12mbps down and burst up to 20mbps. This is on a Galaxy s2. This phone seems to be a HSPA+ 14 phone, so I would expect peak to be around 6-7 mbps. But, I don't have one of these...yet.

Where I live, I have seen 3 megebit down and 1-1.2 megabit uploads. I was using ATT Medianet though, should be close to the same. In a good tmobile area the speeds should be faster.

With a good signal in good coverage area people get about 3Mbps - 4Mbps with the Exhibit ii 4g. With my Galaxy s 2 with good signal in a good coverage area I get about 10 Mbps and have gotten as high as 17.6Mbps.

average for me on 4G is 3-5Mbps down and ~1Mbps up.

I currently have a normal plan on contract. Could I buy this, take the sim card out of my current phone and put it in this one and be good to go? Or does this phone work differently than a normal contract phone?

Bullshit! I have this phone and I was able to unlock it and use it in Colombia with Movistar (3G only). To use 3G or 4G data outside the US you have to manually configure the APN settings under 'Wireless & networks' settings.

phone is good once you flash it. i like rebelrom the best, but flashlight is broken and i kind of use that a lot, so i switched to peach 2.0. i still like rebelrom better, but dude still hasn't fixed flashlight. it works in peach (although i get occasional FC).

if you pull the trigger try though FW - $7.5 CB [fatwallet.com] may be it will cover part of the taxes.

UK uses 900/1800 for EDGE and 2100 for 3G, so wouldn't this phone work quite well?

Alsot AT&T uses 850/1900 for 3G, so I think it should work for 3g on att

Can I use this phone with Groove IP (free phone calling through internet) and textfree (free texting through internet). Will this phone connect free to wifi like the tmobile optimus T? I have the optimus T and was looking to upgrade to this phone. On the optimus T I can go into setting and find my wireless router. Then I can log onto it and make free calls and browse the internet on my optimus T through wifi. Just wondering if this phone can do that as well.
