Thanks, I called into complain about losing Comedy Central and they told me this is what they are doing for the customers since there is no Viacom for the time being.

so Direct drops 17 channels and they give you access to a bunch of old movies. Seems about right for them.
Anybody getting anything of value for the channels dropped like SDers got out of Dish for dropping AMC? |

I called right now. Told them I've had directv for 10 years (which is true) all the lady offered was 5$ off for 3 months and stars. I denied her offer and told her id call back in a few days to cancel. They have no appreciation for loyalty.

Stuff for staying
I called to cancel earlier and am now getting $10 off my monthly plan rate and a $100 credit off this months bill. Apparently I now have to keep service for 60 days for the credit to not be reversed but I will call to cancel after that. The good news is between now as then there should be another channel dropped and this giving us another reason to call and cancel.

My guess is this will be settled in a few days like other disputes between the content providers and the cable/satellite providers, so that's why there's no permanent "offer" from DirecTV yet. Neither party has any intention of parting ways, it's unfortunate how these things get negotiated with the customer in the middle. |

I called in to complain about my bill going up $10 per month, did not add anything it just went up. I am gettting the Encore channels plus $20 off per month for 12 months on my account.
